Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams missed a St Patrick's Day event in the US after being delayed at a Washington airport for "secondary screening".

He had been invited by Congressman Brian Higgins to speak in Buffalo.

Mr Higgins told the audience Mr Adams was absent because his name was on a "terror watch list", but Homeland Security officials would not comment.

They said he had a routine security check and "secondary screening" but was not arrested or detained.

So what's new dude?
The Americans have become paranoid and really gone overboard with this security thing.
Shows how insecure they have become.

Also have a look at this gaffe:
A noted Indian scientist was denied a visa to visit the US on the invitation of the American scientific establishment because he was deemed a threat!!

Washingtonpost.com

The incident has also caused embarrassment at the highest reaches of the American scientific establishment, which has worked to get the State Department to issue a visa to Goverdhan Mehta, who said the U.S. consulate in the south Indian city of Chennai told him that his expertise in chemistry was deemed a threat.

Way to go America!!

This sort of bumbling response is really nothing new for the American government. It's run by boobs.

I hear Pakistanis get much the same treatment when trying to visit relatives in India.

I doubt they get any apologies.

Those "boobs" have managed to catch dozens of Islamoscum in mid terrorist attack and have kept the US safe for over 4 years now.

The real boobs are European nations such as the UK, France, and the Netherlands who thought that they could cosy up to their Muslim populations by allowing them free reign in what they preached. Now France has had mass Muslim riots, the UK has had mass murder committed by British born Muslims, and the Netherlands has seen the murder of a filmmaker who did some work perceived by some to be anti-Islamic.

America isn't your enemy, Islam is - wise up.

I have and that's why I don't trust the US government. If you're smart, you won't either. If you think the people in Washington are working for us, you're deluded. They're working hard to line their own pockets.

Who do you think bought out the US portion of the ports deal? Halliburton. Who has interests in that company? Yeah, that's right, the VP. More filthy politics from the WH and vicinity.

You need to open your eyes

They've mired the US in a no-win war. We'll be stuck there for years fighting a war of attrition, sucking the US economy dry and the destroying America from the inside out.

Are you familiar with some of the ideas the communists had years ago? One of the principal ideas was to, yes, destroy the US from the inside out.

If you want to beat your breast for the US, great, but don't expect everyone else to march to your drumbeat. We're not all blind to the national cancer that is government. Local, state, and federal, they're all dirty.

Mikesingh_ To be fair there is nothing really paranoid about screening the leader of a terroist group even if they have stopped the bombing.

i find that quite funny actaully coming from an american, who trained the 9/11 pilots in your own country before they shafted you up your own bum and put 3 planes into 2 of your famious landmarks.

all this 'preaching' wilist i don't agree with it, our countrys are big belivers in 'THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH'.

theres no preaching in the UK anyway, i think there was 2 (i forgot the first one) but he did a runner back to syria or something
and abu hamza whos in prison now.

whos to say america are in the right, by ragging war on alfganistan/iraq/iran/maybe syria?

whos to say this is not a cover-up for oil? - whos is there to tell george bush to shut-up?

^FREEDOM OF SPEECH^ - something everyone is intitled to in the western world, whether its right/wrong.

Not exactly. RECENT history -

Jimmy Carter wasn't rich. He was born in a small farm family.
He worked his way up financially.

Bill Clinton ... from the way left ... if even HE knows it isn't,
then ya'll really ought to be able to see that. Or is your
anti-Americanism blinding you to that?

whos is there to tell george bush to shut-up?

i still stick with my original statement, i noticed how on both of those websites one said "could" and the other one said "trying".

but we have 1.8 million muslims living in britain, america has 8 million muslims - i refuse to believe they fully back bush and bushes attitude towards there country/s they immigrated from!!

. have american muslims not took to the street in protests?,
. have no american muslims not been charged on the terrorism act law? (i know for a fact they have)!!
. have they not voiced there anger about the alfganistan war, the iraq war, the treats to iran/syria etc.

if they have not, then why does AMERICANS always go on about 'freedom'?, isn't FREEDOM OF SPEECH one of the greatest freedoms any human-being can have?

see i find it funny how americans come on here and point out that europe is to blame, you lot are very short-sighted about the world - america as the most muslims (outside any muslim country) living in the united states!!

you have immgration crime-rate problems too from south american countrys coming through in boat loads (smugglimg drugs etc), best of both world eh? - isn't that a form of 'terrisom?'

so don't come in another countrys forum and start pointing your finger at other nations, when america is a nation that doesn't smell of roses!!

afterall bushes words are 'war on terrorism' so do these words only cover certain terrorists or does it cover just muslims terrorists?

if thats the case shouldn't it be 'war on al-qaeda' then? or 'war on the taliban?'

if not, why don't america sort its OWN TERRORISTS out first, before poking its nose into the middle-east?

i'll tell you why (OIL)....*COUGH* food for oil program
but more oil will go from the middle-east than food is put into there countrys (i GUARANTEE that)!!

put 2+2 together dude.

do you honestly think america spent $300 billion (and still rising) to put a 71 year old man (saddam) into a joke of a court room?

+ whatever they spent (still spending) in alfganistan, how do you think america can afford to go to war with iran?? (america is still spending $500 billion a year on defence too), the sums don't add up!!

iran will be a much tougher obsticle than iraq you know - something as to give dude, political gain and oil comes into the agenda.

- The tragedy is that you honestly see it that way.

Bill Clinton, way left!?

By what strange and narrow definition is that then, hmmm?

Talk about the twilight zone and distorted realities.

Bill Clinton had a go at one or two things some Americans think 'socialist' (until stopped or diverted by the running battles) but mainly he was centrist on a few things and pretty right-wing on most others (by any sane international standard)......just cos he wasn't as extreme as Bush & many of the current crop of republicans ideologues does not make BC 'left' and certainly not "way left".

But I suppose it does highlight just how detached from reality some Americans are these days if they honestly think BC is the definition of 'left'.

Oh lawrdy ...

- Indeed.

......and the pointless waste of time that was that petty and ridiculous dig at Adams is hardly much to be applauding.
