dream catcher

i was watching stephen kings the dream catcher last night and i was thinking are the organisation in that book/film which deal with ailens like a real societie and if so which one?

The group in the movie (which is a godawful movie about people who get aliens inside them from eating what they think are berries in the woods, and the aliens burst out of their butts ) is represented as a branch of the military, rather than a secret society.
