Guantanamo Bay Transcripts Released, page 1

The Pentagon released nearly five-thousand pages of testimony describing conditions in Guantanamo Bay. Although many details regarding America's campaign against terror is described, not much is mentioned about the representation and activities of detainees in the prison facility. Some readers of the papers question the quality of the information given.

These details, and many more, emerge from more than 5,000 pages of newly released transcripts of detainee hearings at the U.S. military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. But as much as they reveal about the U.S. war against terrorism, much more remains unknown — the answers tantalizingly beyond reach.

Where, for example, is Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, who was captured in Pakistan three years ago by CIA officers and Pakistani authorities?

Being that the Guantanamo Bay documents are hard to follow, nothing important is reported. Sadly enough, this seems like another attempt to hide the aspects of torture and to justify America's War on Terror. Stories appear describing the force-feeding of hunger-striking prisoners, unwarranted incarceration of some detainees and suicides within the prison. More material needs to be researched. The article conveys the sad realization that the truth regarding Guantanamo Bay might never be revealed.
