Actually the 636 RUMOUR has not be substaniated. No picture no nothing, even from such a open country about there military information. I cant find any link to confirm it while no mention on Moscow defence brief about any sales of 636s to india. Even the site you got your information said rumoured only

In terms of anti-acoustic construction, both are more or less the same.

You can search it up, The 636 is a lot more quiter than the 877. The words being used are dramatically and considerably reduced. Most of the inside gear of the kilos were stripped and replaced by quieter equipment. But its stupid to argue on this since china has seven 636Ms and only two standard 636

What is the main differences between project 877EKM and 636 submarines ?

Platforms at these submarines of absolutely identical. They differ by the filling: 36 unit equipment were constructed for project 636, beginning at modernized sonar and ending with many converters, fans, main electric motor, diesel-altemator, motor of economic movement and many others elements. All just listed motors have smaller vibration, and consequently smaller noisiness, have the new depreciation, the high power, therefore the project submarine 636 has the maximal velocity 20 units and considerably smaller noisiness. Consequently, the project submarines 636 sees project submarines 877 D SOB on railway division several time as much of more than far.

Add 2 more Kilos (636) which were reportedly deleivered in 2005.

The United States Navy is all but unbeatable. People get so scared when they hear China is planning a thousand ship navy. Its not about how many you have. Our new Zumwalt-class destroyers, Littoral Combat Ships, and carriers may not be numbered by that many but they have the power of two thousand Chinese Cold War relics. We're not unbeatable, but we're damn near close. One should note though that we have fallen slightly behind in submarrine warfare though. Which of course we are trying to change.

Is the USN unbeatable. Hell ya! Do we really need to ask that?

I mean even the Soviets in their glory days had a hard time with the USN and they were like at least 50 times more powerful than the PLAN is today. Now almost 20 years on the scope of the USN is on a whole different scale today. Even stretch of water in the world is within its reach. Why navy in the world can even come close to saying that?

Not boasting or anything but asking these questions is just useless.

The us navy is unbeatable by any carrier based force available in the world yes but is vulnerable to hypersonic anti ship missles like brahmos.

a single poor decision could change the outcome of a war, even nature itself could destroy a navy, nothing is unbeatable as we know the only certainty in life is death and taxes

In short...Yes...Right now we have the top NAVY ever to float the seas. The power the NAVY can bring to any conflict is amazing. A carrier group is a mighty and awesome beast. Russia has nothing left not rusting or 30 years old, China has a bunch of crap that will make nice reefs for fish, and nobody else has anything close to the US....Not yet anyway.

Amazing

do a search for ` Swedish AIP sub` on ats and see how the USN couldn`t fins it for 3 months - and would have lost 5 carrier groups to 1 sub alone/

also search for `Sunburn` and ` Brahmos` for real systems that scare USN admiral`s - Sunbrun renders CIWS useless - even though its ability was questionable anyway (no kills for 6 hits) - SeaRAM is questionable abilities as well - a Sidewinder seeker on a stinger body; again search for the technical breakdown on ATS which makes this missile a `feel good` weapon only, the russians have 10 years ahead od the US in cruise missiles - only now are they counting the cost of not using |Coyote for anything other than a test system.

The streakers and the Dancers? well how many Tomahwak have been shot down.....
