Many people have known this information for a while. I am glad that it is finally being released.
I heard that the Pope survived, because right at the time of the shooting, a person in the crowd raised a painting of Mother Mary. Thus, Pope John
Paul II turned towards the painting changing the area of impact of the bullet. Experts say that if the Pope did not turn, then the shot would have
been fatal.
