Subsonic transport with a weight of 44 tons (394 kN) and Aspect Ratio of 8.

Any ideas?

Thats not a plane, its a maths question.

DC-9? Fokker 100? I don't know the 'clues' are far too vague, whats the reason behind this question?

Its for an assignment that I have to do.

Thats incredible, how did you go about finding that. I spent hours rumaging throught txts and stuff to no avail.

McDonnell Douglas DC-9-10 is the right answer; well it appears consistent looking at the specifications. en.wikipedia.org...

Nice ones Waynos!

Was it an educated guess or a lucky one?

To be honest I'm astonished my first guess was right, I just figured a transport with an aspect ratio of 8 would have a relatively short span if it weighed 44 tons, which I equated to somewhere in the 80-120 seater class, the shortest span plane in this class I could think of was the early model DC-9. 50% luck, 50% judgement.

It would have been even more impressive if I'd left the Fokker out, I only stuck that in because I figured I couldn'y possibly get it right first time
