How would you get the word out?

The "hooker" thread got me thinking a bit about information. If one of you happened to have (in your opinion) credible information about a pending attack, or legitimate information that would prove a story wrong(say 9/11 for example), how would you go about getting this information CREDIBLY to the masses.

The television media probably wouldn't run your story, and mesageboards such as this one would more than likely peg you as crazy.

Granted, if it was news such as in the hooker thread, and it did happen, THEN you would be taken seriously, but then it would be too late.

If you wanted to try and save people lets say from a threat, who would you tell? Wouldn't 99% of the people just write you off as a loon?

Just a few questions to get you thinking I guess. And no, I'm not asking because I have news of impending doom, I was just posing a few questions...
