Most Wanted tinWiki Articles.

Topic started on 11-3-2006 @ 01:38 PM by Umbrax

Based on top search strings that bring people to ATS the following articles are needed to be written.

Area 51

9/11

John Titior

Philadelphia Project

Cryptozoology

Aurora Aircraft

If these articles are written soon it may drive traffic to tinWiki.

Articles like 9/11 will be long and difficult to put together but this is a celebrative project. If someone lays out the foundation with a good article others will come and add on to it and fill in the blanks.
When writing an article remember to follow the Style Guide and also end the article with the headline “Relevant Discussion Threads” followed by links to good relevant ATS threads.

Val's probably got some of the best to pull from in some of these categories....

For crypto...probably best to have an entry for each major one...

Lochness Monster
Bigfoot
Thunderbird
Mokele Mobembe
Champ
Abominable Snowman
Living Megaladon
Yeti
Skunk Ape
Giant Snakes
Chupacabra
Unicorn
Dragon
Jersey Devil (especially with the bat comparison, as man, that was right on the money)....

etc.

Yes all those will need to be written .
Someone was nice and made a Champ article already.
Cryptozoology will still need an article.

Articles for Area 51 and John Titior are now up but as with all articles new information can be added.

I'll see if I can't get atleast a few of these projects started tomorrow. Once they are started the members can edit or increase their substance. We just need to get them going.

Is Wikipedia.org copyrighted such that I cannot cut and paste sentences from there? Also, where can I go for a good outline of how a page should be written?

Thanks!

Wikipedia allows reproduction of its material as long as the original authors are credited and who ever reproduce it allows it to be reproduced also.
On tinWiki we don't want to copy and paste from Wikipedia as we want to be separated from that wiki.
In other words they allow it but we don’t.

Also, where can I go for a good outline of how a page should be written?

Thanks!

Aurora's a work in progress. I've made the article, but I plan to be doing some editting soon.

There's now a Cryptozoology page, but it's a stub. I've made a Cryptids page w/ a list of cryptids. I have a link of all of those but Jersey Devil, Living Megaladon, and Giant Snakes (Anacondas?), and the Abominable Snowman and Yeti are the same thing. Sightings occured in the same place and they have VERY similar appearences, and most main stream Cryptozoologists consider them one and the same.
