Citizen, a company known for making wristwatches, ahs stepped out of there general are of prducts to create tiny robot.

The Eco-Be! is just 1.8 cm wide and 2.5 cm tall; it is operated by infrared remote control.

These mini robots are able to move forward and backward, and can turn to either side. The low-cost Eco-Be is powered by watch batteries; it is constructed with Citizen watch technology. Citizen is promoting the Eco-be! as the basis for an affordable robot platform for education and other uses.

Pretty cool little things.
I'd definately like one of them, just for the intrinsic novelty value of it.

Well it does'nt neccesarily have a quickly viable point for it's creation.

It shows how small we can make robots.

I'm sure people will buy them for the intrinsic(SP?) entertainment value.
