Japanese Scientists Refine Gasoline From Cow Dung

TOKYO — Scientists in energy-poor Japan said Friday they have found a new source of gasoline — cattle dung.

Sakae Shibusawa, an agriculture engineering professor at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, said his team has successfully extracted 1.4 milliliters (0.042 ounces) of gasoline from every 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of cow dung by applying high pressure and heat.

What isn't disclosed is the efficiency ratio of btu's in vs btu's of energy out. But if true, big oil is in trouble (I hope) along with all those Islamic tyrany's. India could be the new OPEC, and Texas the ultimate BS state!

Not true. You seem to forget all the byproducts that come from refining fossil fuels that are sold as well. Big oil will never be in trouble.

Congress should pass a law that ALL products should be "sustainable" and renewable.
