I am absolutely disgusted!

I think this is totally uneccessary and gratuitous.

What really peeves me though is why haven't I got one

You know I don't find the fart button as bad as these ads.

For the most part the banner ads are good such as the Girl Scouts and academic ads.
But these particular ads are unethical and really bring ATS's integrity down. I hope there is a way for you guys to review this with the advertisers.

Edit to add second picture.

Just wondering cuz the new header still isn't loading properly for me (everything still works though).

Not sure if this is important... figured it was on my end. Since the change-over the main banner add doesn't load. Everything else is working fine to my knowledge... don't run an ad-blocker only pop-up blocker. When i slide my cursor over it it says, "Rich Media Blocked" and i haven't intentionally blocked anything except pop-ups (space where ad should be is white with one of those little icons in the upper left corner.) Just FYI.

BTW new set-up and extra buttons look good.

Figured the pic gave it away but I'm using IE at the moment.

It's soon to be Firefox (most likely) so maybe that'll "fix" it for me.

Like I said though, everything still "works", it just doesn't look as sleek as it could/should.

What is rong with the site?
It's not loading properly not like it use to anyway.
When I visit any page on ATS now the butons show up and I have to wait after that a while before it loads.
When I post I have to wait forever it seems.
It's not from the browser Internet explorer and netscape behaves the same on ATS I instaled netscape and it does the same.

It loads the buttons and everything else remains gray(the background)
after a while it gives me the content on the page but it takes long.
I didint have this kind of problems when the old desing was in place.
Is it loading something hard?before loading the other stuff?
Cant it be fixed?

I for the first time saw this advert...

and yes,

I hit that fart button too.

More than once.

And I am left to wonder which of the Three Amigos recorded it. hmmmm

Simon - A private person of Brit caliber. Likely just as private with his flatulence.

Skeptic - Short and to the point, all business.

Springer - well, what can I say *snickers*

They say you are what you eat so press the button

Think it is a good advert, really classy and draws people's attention and that is what advertising does.

Larry:

no thanks man, I don't think I will be able to handle the stink!!

In cyberspace if somebody farts, then who smells it?

but these people had good ideas for a banner though, since I saw that I will never forget it. Never. It make a permanent impression in your mind when you see it.

oops.

'scuse me.

anyone got a pack of matches?

my mother made me say 'fluff' because she didn't like the word 'fart', lol.

this, apparently, has been a subject historically ignored by science because of the lack of 'taste'.

Hopefully the smell will dissipate soon from the Serptor wars.

got to say that those free ipod nano ads are so danged annoying that I think they actually work, I mean them make you post faster so that you don't have to look at them.

Finally, A Site Feature I Can Use

You know, I can't even remember how long ago it was that I submitted a suggestion requesting a fart button.

At long last, my prayers are answered.

Some of the ads that make it onto ATS pages are rather questionable, especially for a "family conspiracy site", but even the worst ones I've see so far are infinitely better than membership fees or pledge drives.

Besides, ads can serve as a foundation for greater understanding. Most people probably don't know that Benjamin Franklin, esteemed icon of the American Revolution, wrote at length on this very subject.

Let us join the venerable Mr. Franklin and proclaim throughout the land as he did so long ago:

Fart Proudly

Did Franklin write that? Wow that guy is funny indeed. Didn't know that those guys had a sense of humour.

Wondered about some other sayings on that banner like: press this button or your computer will self-destruct.

I hate those popups where they are negative, they say do you want this software installed on your computer and you press NO' but they made both buttons mean YES. Sneaky indeed.
