Excuse my ignorance, but what military bases are there in Nevada? The reason I ask is that I was traveling to Las Vegas for a vacation once and as the plane was traveling over the desert I looked out the window and noticed a black military plane flying below us and it appeared to be escorting us. The plane eventually left after we were about 50 or so miles to the city. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Beside Area 51, stupid me

Here's a short list of some of the military bases in Nevada:

1. Nellis Air Force Base
2.Fallon Naval Air Station
3.Indian Springs Air Force Base
4.Tonapah Test Range
5.Groom Lake (Area 51)
6.North Las Vegas Air Terminal (A small airstrip at McCarren Airport that flies pilots to Groom Lake and other places within Nellis)

(EDIT: fixed a typo)
