So ... Bill Clinton just loooooves Dubai and the port deal. Hillary
says she hates the port deal and it's bad for America. Bet they
have some interesting pillow talk, eh?

Seriously ... Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter and George Bush all love it.
What's wrong with this picture?

BTW - looks like they are not only trying to get the port deal, but
they are looking to buy Albertsons food stores. Wonder what they'll
stock in the exotic foods section?

We'll have to look around and see if anyone else is picking up
these facts .. or if this fellow is just all chatter.

Lloyd Grove
NY Daily News

Sen. Clinton is bashing the White House deal that would have the oil-rich
United Arab Emirates - through the government-owned Dubai Ports World
- running half a dozen major U.S. ports. Former President Clinton, however,
is praising Dubai as an enlightened Arab nation and "a critical ally in the
war on terror."

Does Bill have a less than altruistic reason to be pro-Dubai? Yesterday I
asked his office if he helped recruit Dubai into a potentially lucrative
partnership with Democratic fund-raiser Ron Burkle's private investment
firm, Yucaipa.

The former President is a frequent visitor to Dubai, possibly on Burkle's
757 jet, is an occasional high-dollar lecturer there ($300,000 for a single
speech), and serves on Yucaipa's board of directors.

A knowledgeable source speculates that billionaire Burkle pays his close
friend seven figures - and possibly even an equity stake - for his advice
and hard work. That might take the pressure off Hillary to support the
Clintons' households.

Clinton tried to allow the Chinese to buy some port in California and was promptly stopped.
The difference is, he diddnt lie about it.
He never did anything that posed a national threat to the USA.

By now, Clinton must have gone to one of their ritualistic satanic gatherings. Its obvious he's been iniciated.

This port deal is a threat to national security. At least it is IMHO.

OKAY kiddies ... we have The Sun Times providing even more info
-
geeee ... we have Bill Clinton, Madeline Albright, Joe Lockhart,
John Kerry's office and John Edwards crew mentioned as well.

March 2, 2006
BY ROBERT NOVAK
SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST

While Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton was ripping President Bush's handling
of American ports management, Bill Clinton was pushing for one of his
favorite White House aides to be hired to defend the deal. The former
president proposed to the United Arab Emirates his onetime press
secretary, Joe Lockhart, as Washington spokesman for the UAE-owned
company, Dubai Ports World.

According to well-placed UAE sources, the former president made the
suggestion at the very highest level of the oil-rich state. The relationship
between him and the UAE is far from casual. The sheikdom has contributed
to the Clinton Presidential Library, and brought Clinton to Dubai in 2002
and 2005 for speeches (reportedly at $300,000 apiece). He was there in
2003 to announce a scholarship program for American students traveling
to Dubai. Certainly, the emirs would pay the closest attention to any
request from the former president. Lockhart did confer with DP World
officials, but the UAE sources said Lockhart's asking price was much too
high.

Lockhart did not flatly deny that Clinton had made a pitch for him, but
instead said he did not know whether the former president was involved.
Lockhart said he was recommended by another Clintonite: Carol Browner,
the Albright Group lobbying firm. Headed by former Secretary of State
Madeleine Albright, the company is representing DP World. Lockhart told
me ''money was not the problem'' as he turned down the offer.

While Lockhart may have been a bridge too far for DP World, the UAE has
reached out to high-priced Washington lobbyists on both sides of the aisle
(including Republicans Bob Dole and Vin Weber). Leading the way in
putting together the port deal was Jonathan Winer, a Democrat who spent
10 years as Sen. John Kerry's aide. Winer's associate at the Alston & Bird
law firm supporting DP World is Kathryn Marks, who was policy director for
then Sen. John Edwards.

He loves it because Poppy Bush told him to. Poppy has had a leash on Clinton since the early 80's when they were smuggling coc aine into Mena , Arkansas together. They're both scum!

I dont give a hoot what ya come up with. The man was a saint. This country thrived under his tremendous leadership.

He was a real man. No wonder other women lusted for him. I WAS ONE OF THEM.

Seriously, have we ever had a squeaky clean president??? When???

Clinton was as close to running the land of OZ as you can come.

Everything was perfect in our economy, our national budget, which is precisely why EVERYBODY JUMPED ON THE CALL TO IMPEACH HIM FOR IMPROPER SEXUAL CONDUCT.

Who gives a rats arsssss????

Hey, you run this country well, and i dont give a damn what you do in your spare time.

Morals????!!!!
Bush is the epitome of morals.

Plueeeeez.....

To make it fair to all, lets just say that since i've been around. ( a substancial amount of time), THIS PRESIDENT has been the craziest, least educated, most outragious lying sack............... i ever heard of., inspite of that, other presidents have also had their bad days, but this one tops it by a mile.

Bring out Clintons name. It doesnt matter now. He is not the president anymore. We should be (and we are) talking about the current incompetent one. He be the one that is going to make us or brake us at the present time. Not Clinton.

'discussing' with a fella' and all along we were two
girls yanking each others hair!

CALL TO IMPEACH HIM FOR IMPROPER SEXUAL CONDUCT.

He was impeached because he lied under oath in a sexual harrassment
suit - a MAN who took advantage of his position of authority over a woman.

Morals????!!!!

I didn't post this because of any morals issue. ALthough if others
wish to discuss that, that's fine by me.

I thought it was a hoot that Bill and Hillary appear to be on opposite
sides of this. I thought it was amazing that Bill is so darn close to the
government of the UAE ... and that he and Jimmy Carter and George
Bush all just looooooooove this deal ... whereas most of America
hates it. I thought it equally amazing that everyone is trashing
George Bush for this deal, which they should be doing, and yet
Bill Clinton is getting off without a nod. AND I found the Sun Times
article interesting because there are veins of this deal that reach
all the way to John Kerry's office, John Edward's office, and to
Madeline Albright.

Flyersfan, girlfriend, i thought you were a guy too.

I am not trying to be pedantic or difficult here, and i am sure that Billy did his fair share of harm while he was around, but in all truth and this is of course, just my opinion, i thought he was a darned good president.

In fact, i liked all the previous presidents, with the exeption of Nixon. Tricky Dickey. :shk:

You're absolutely right dgt. Clinton isn't the issue anymore!

Anybody that has read the disinfo thread can see the transparent
tactic at work here...

4. use a straw man
10. associate opponent charges with old news
18. emotionalize, antagonize and goad opponents

and the ever popular....

13. Alice in wonderland logic

We all know what is transpiring here.....

"The President and his neo-con friends are melting down so maybe we can use the old Clinton distraction; it used to work great, remember"

Should have stopped while you were ahead dg...

Do you know why China is more of a threat now to us than it was say a decade or so ago? Well someone thought it was somehow Ok to sell our nuclear secrets to them. Yeah, real saintly

Do you know why teorrorists attacks like the US embassy bombings, and the USS cole attack happened? Because someone thought it was best to just ignore the problem hoping it would go away instead of addressing it. (actually there were poor attempts to address it, but this only made the terrorists laugh and plan bigger more spectacular attacks such as 9/11)

Do you know one of the reasons why congress fairly quickly authorized us going to war with Iraq? Because back in 1998 someone signed the Iraq Liberation Act which called for a regime change in Iraq. The policy and way of thinking was not changed.

Did nothing to threaten our security?

Bring out Clintons name. It doesnt matter now. He is not the president anymore. We should be (and we are) talking about the current incompetent one. He be the one that is going to make us or brake us at the present time. Not Clinton.

Well the thread is about Bill not seeing a problem with the deal.
He knows that the Border Patrol, US Customs, and the US Coast Guard will still have FULL and COMPLETE control over the security of our ports, so he sees nothing wrong with the deal.
If you're holding back info that former presidents and the current president don't know about how this will affect security, please share it with us!

Sorry whaaaaaaaa ... but you are a bit off base IMHO.

Clinton being in on the UAE port deal isn't 'old news'.
The port deal is NEW news. Of course, the fact that
he and his bunch are up to their eyeballs in it all
transpired a while back ... but the port deal is coming
into news now. So it's relevant.

And your wrong (IMHO) on the emotionalize, antagonize and
goad thing as well. There wasn't any kind of emotion
in my authoring this post except
at what must be
some pretty funky pillow talk between the Clintons and
perhaps some
at the fact that no one is discussing
Bill Clinton's part in the deal and his push for Joe Lockhart's
roll in it all.

And there was no goading. Perhaps some tongue in cheek
teasing ... but no hard core goading. I posted that, IMHO
all who pushed for this were doing something that was
bad for this country ... that means Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton
AND George Bush to name just a few. George Bush is
getting most of the blame, as he should be because he's
in office, but it is obvious that there is more blame that
can be passed around ... and Bill Clinton is also hip deep in this muck.

Ya'll didn't read all the info at these sites, did ya'?? I thought for
sure someone would be commenting on the upcoming takeover
of Albertsons grocery chains by the UAE. If I'm not mistaken,
Albertsons (big in Texas and the South East) also owns
ACME which is rather big here around Philly, as well as Shaws
which is big in New England.

So, not only do they want to take over our ports, but they want
to start to take over our food supply chain.

Since last fall, according to news accounts, Yucaipa and government-
owned Dubai Investments have jointly bid on the commodities broker
Refco, Inc., and the Albertson's grocery chain. No deals yet.

Thatsjustweird,

You dont make a good case here. When you left the pot to simmer, i thought you were out collecting and gathering a truckload of info to post here. What you have here doesnt make the grade. DID I SAY HE WAS PERFECT IN EVERYWAY??? NO.
But there is nothing here that points to criminal behaviour by Clinton, which is more than i can say for the other one.

Flyersfan, you mean they want my delicious line of Essensia foods? Over my dead body. This is insane! What next? The CVS where i do business?

Where do you get your information from? This isnt true at all. Dubai's government would "own" the ports as opposed to a "corporation" owning the port.

lol
I didn't go into detail because it would have gone off topic. I was just addressing your comment about him never endangering us.

You want me to go into the criminal actions of the Clinton administration?
Which ones?
I could go into Chinagate, or Whitewater, or talk about how he lied under oath, or his violation of the Privacy Act, or the whole Waco incident, or his violation of the War Powers Act, or everything surrounding Vince Foster and Webb Hubbell, etc.
This isn't PTS though.

ThatsJustWeird - you forgot travelgate. Wasn't that the first
______gate (fill in the blank) for the Clintons?

Clintons actions with UAE may not be illegal, but they are just
as bad for America as Bush's UAE actions. The thing is ... no
one is talking about his involvement, they are too busy bashing
Bush on this (I am guilty of that too).

dg - you can kiss your Essensia foods goodbye. And since UAE
hates Israel and thus hates Jews ... You can kiss all your kosher
foods goodbye too I'm sure. I'm not Jewish, but I do like
Matzaball soup.

Couscous anyone? (I like it, but ... )

Interesting. Apparently the Israelis don't feel the same way about the UAE. As being reported on CCN.com:

Israeli company endorses port deal

You are forgetting the the underlying motivating factor in this situation is pure and simple - money. The fact of the matter is that most Arab countries trade with Israel (albeit in quiet fashion) because there are Dinars and Shekels to be made. And since there are plenty of dollars to be made, I would be very surprised if this deal didn't go through (eventually).

What we have here is just a good ole' fashion political grandstanding - taking advantage of a relatively small molehill and making a mountain out of it to further political agendas, while simultaneously sandbagging your opponents who (for once) seem to be making a rational and informed decision.

You gotta love American politics!

The UAE has a boycott of Israel and Israeli goods going -
www.nydailynews.com...

It is so strong that they gave up a possible world chess championship
(I say possible, but I doubt he would have won) because they refused to
allow their UAE player to play against a Jew.
