Just one day before crucial local elections , The South African government has announced that sabotage and not any accident or negligence as responsible for damage to the vital Koeberg nuclear facility .
The damage to the Koeberg nuclear plant was done deliberately and was not an
accident, Minister of Public Enterprises Alec Erwin said on Tuesday.

This annoncement is very conveniently timed , just ahead of tommorows crucial elections .
The ANC must be hoping that diverting blame onto some " criminal saboteur " , that they will escape the criticism that has been dogging the government since the damage to the plant in Dec 2005 , which has led to severe power shortages in the Cape area
