Theese are called parasite aircraft,

I watched a similar programme the other night , which was the larger plane dropping the smaller one Bodrul ?
if it was the b-29 then the plane in question would probably the mcdonnell xf-85 goblin it was designed to escort longrange bombers to be dropped from a trapeze below b 29 to escort /protect it from enemy fighters it had a Westinghouse J34-WE-7 axial flow turbo jet ,

It was cancelled because of the difficulty in joining back up with the parent aircraft.

If you know which was the mother aircraft i would probably be able to determine which was the likely craft you saw.

it was parasite aircraft.

it was carried by a b-36 (may be wrong)
because of propellers being at the back of the wings

That image is a xf-85 goblin, I guessed right!

It was designed to be used by the B-36 but most(in fact i think all) of the testing was carrried out on a B-29 as no goblin compatible B-36 's were avaliable for testing.

Above an image of the goblin on the trapeze below a B-29.

forgot ,Try this link,

And maybe we should open up the discussion to include other parasite aircraft as the idea is an old concept and i can think of many more examples that are very interesting in them selves .

The reason I didn't offer the XF-85 as an answer to the original question was that Bodrul stated a mini jet bomber. Is this definitely what was stated by the programme Bodrul? The reason I ask is because the Goblin shown above was a defensive fighter intended to protect the bomber formations, it wasn't a bomber itself.

they were talking about parasite and how to inhance the range of aircraft
for bombings mostly and air to air deffence

going to see if they show it again on wings

I misread the question waynos didn't see bomber so made a lucky guess was going to make my submission on the mother plane type.
