<<  1    2  >>

Topic started on 18-2-2006 @ 11:17 PM by Seekerof

If this has been posted before, please feel free to pop a link to that thread, cause I can not readily find it, but I noticed that we have a number of new supermods, some that I have never seen before as members.

alien prick

BKrick
darrick
DERRICK

Are congratulations due or are they simply new 'socks'?

I kind of figured that may be the case, simply did not want to utilize the voodoo words 'hack' or 'hackers'.

I'm just a lurker here that reads this forum daily.

It's possible that when your forum had an attempted hack (yeah I know the voodoo word) the hacker created those nicks and made himself a supermod.

SO mentions the attempted hack here:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Two events this morning:

An attempt to hack the site content, and a DoS flood soon after that failed.

Our provider's anti-flood system has kicked in, and we're okay for now. I'm reviewing the logs and trying to figure out more details.

Hope this helps Seekerof.

Thank you for the link, sosuemetoo.
Accordingly, it seemingly does look apparent that the "attempt to hack" was somewhat of a success, despite it be branded as having "failed".

Not sure and no matter.

I just came on before heading to bed and in reading up on some topics, I happened to notice some new names listed in the supermods listing. I hope those that did attempt the hack got spanked, in one form or another.

Interesting find SeekerOf. It looks like alien prick joined on 5-5-05. He's never posted and he was last active in 1969?

alien prick

Actually it looks like all of them were last active on 12-31-1969.

Glad to be of some help. Like I said, that MIGHT be what happened. I'll wait along with the rest for a real moderator or one of the 3 Amigo's to explain.

I think that would be a pseudo name for Richard Doty, which I believe the last hack was because of the ATS counter website to the Project Serpo website?

A Super Moderator has moderator powers across all forums. While Moderators have those powers over just the ones they are assigned too. They might have some other perks too.

Quite right, as DLM said. The only thing he neglected to say was that Supers get to wear a cape, the color of their choice.

It was a computer thing; something that can happen if one is not careful. Kind of how I made an admin out of someone in the past.
I'm sure we all remember that, don't we?
Anyway, I did not do it, this time. Also, as you notice, the highest one can be made is Super Mod.
One of the safeguards put in place by Skeptic.

So Super Mods are Mods with Super Powers? And the Admins wear tights... I've seen the guy with tights and bald head in the ATS Store.

So, in the words of Kathie Griffen, WHo do I have to pay off around here to get a promotion?

Kidding, I am way to big for tights.(Joke inside a joke, classic humor)

That's what I assumed Thomas. A moderator glitch or a hacher that was thwarted.

Like a hacker could ever bring down ATS. What a joke.

Thanks for the update Thomas!
