Well this is one of those stories that just makes you think. I know airlines lose bags but 9700 in one day? I dont know... just thought it was kinda funny thou like no one knows this.

cnn.com
WASHINGTON (AP) -- More bags were lost, damaged, delayed or pilfered by U.S. airlines last year than in at least eight years, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

Reports of mishandled bags on domestic flights rose 23 percent in 2005, from 4.91 per 1,000 passengers in 2004 to 6.04 per 1,000. That's an average of about 9,700 lost or damaged bags each day.

I guess we should just be glad that those idiots are just losing our bags and not our CHILDREN!

In the last 5 years of travelling my bags have been lost twice. They turned up both times, albeit a few days later, but I can't say I'm shocked to hear such numbers.
