One of Canada's largest breweries is in damage control after the 40-year-old Toronto actor who played a Scottish spokesman for Alexander Keith's beer was charged with several counts of possessing child pornography.

Robert Norman Smith, who is best known as the mutton-chopped, loudmouth Scotsman who praises Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale as "the pride of Nova Scotia" in television commercials, was charged Wednesday after Toronto police searched his home on a warrant Tuesday.

Police alleged Smith's computer contained more than 200 images of graphic sex involving children as young as 12 months old. He possessed child porn between Sept. 27 and Nov. 9 and also on Valentine's Day this year and made the pornography available last fall, police alleged.

Smith, who has no prior criminal record, has bail restrictions, including some that prohibit him from leaving Ontario, accessing the Internet or any computerized device that stores images.

Really makes you wonder doesn't it.

Like alright some people are alittle better off than others, some other people may drool alittle bit on themselves and you think hes a few loose.

But this is in a category of its own. Why would you possibly have a photo of a 12 month old baby to get your kicks off. My next question is who the hell is taking the pictures? I hope it was taken from a family website who just has pictures of their own baby and this guy is just jackin them from there.

Its guys like these that make capital punishment sound necessary.
