Aside from the silly users proclaiming "they can be BEKs" or the whole ridiculous notion that rich kids are buying contact lenses to give a good scare to innocent people in their homes and cars (even if it is suburbia) we should approach the case from all perspectives.

This is what I have done in coming up with the assumptions that they are an indication that these creatures are from the plane of Death. Like I said earlier, it is easier for any "otherworldly" creature to possess the form of a child i.e. demons, spirits and even to a certain extent aliens - this is because:

1 - as humans it is natural that we would not assume a child to be dangerous or "different", if they act odd then we brush it off as them being silly or simply strange (which is usually normal)

2 - it is easier to assume the form of undeveloped human, i.e. there are no scars, wrinkles, other signs of ageing and other conditions that are inherent with the process of maturity, therefore being a kid is completely liberating because it enables the individual to do what "they want" - this point is driven more to the point by the odd appearance and awkward presence that Men In Black have (completely unrelated to this topic) - but more people recognise the "bad make-up", "strange mechanical voice" and "out-dated" suits or cars, because the people or creatures or aliens (or whatever the MIB are) are basically interpreting the adult human form (government authoritative official) from the studies or research data they have acquired, this might have become outdated and will most definitely never fit in - because we all are aware of how fast cultural trends, language and even society changes. But with children it's always easy, especially if they haven't reached the adolescent stages of maturity.

However, as you have indicated Nightwin it's true that some people have encountered an "adult-form" of the phenomena, this falls back into what I was stating earlier. Although it is a recommended choice to assume the visual appearance of a child it's not to say that these creatures have not also attempted being an adult. BUT, I do know that the majority (if not all documented) of BEK cases regarding a BEK attempting to enter a house or car have always been related to the appearance of the BEK as a child. And again this is because a child is seen as a vulnerable and innocent in our society, and trust me MANY people along with god knows what else is out there know this and this is why children are always the main target for paranormal experiences i.e. poltergeist, demonic possessions, spiritual contact.

My only issue at the moment is whether these "deadties" or "death men" whatever you want to call them are actually taking on the appearance of a child or possessing a child (alive or dead)? the same goes for the adult form cases as well.

As for their persistence to enter one's home, I can only fathom that this is because they seek interaction/communication with a live individual "within their own realm" - like I stated earlier, you need to "invite" Death from your doorstop. Being that they are creatures from the plane/dimension of Death they cannot simply run around at their will because they need to adhere to our reality's dimensional laws and physics.

As I said I am currently doing philosophical research into the possibility of the hypothesis that there is an alternate realm on top of ours which is that of the thin veil of Death. I refer to is as the Death plane, but this does not mean I am referring to it as the spiritual world or the afterlife. If anything the Death plane is the "gray" between the white and black, it is the darkness whence we came (from pre-birth) to where we go (post-death), however it is simply a transitional area or space, just as the "Dream world" is another place where we travel when we fall asleep or when people astral project or meditate etc...

I said...No, I dont think so...just telll me what street your on and I'll call a tow truck. He didnt answer after that...he just stood there staring at me which was making me even more afraid so I slammed the door and locked it. I dont know how long he stood outside the door because I was too afraid to look but I waited a good 30 minutes before opening the door again with my phone in my hand so I could call someone if he was still out there, and when I looked out the window he was gone. I RAN to my car jumped in, locked the doors and sped down the driveway just to get away from there . Not once did I look in my rear view mirror until I was a good 5 miles away from home...I dont know why.

Sounds like to me the kid may have been on Ecstacy. Ecstacy will dilate the pupil of the eye to the point that they look black. The dilation is actually what causes the eye to appear black.

Just joined the site, and mainly because of the BEK. When I first started reading about them, a scene from a cable show flashed into my mind. It has been a year at least (probably around last halloween) and I don't remember whether it was one of the Discovery Channel group, or one of the A&E group. The show was about hauntings.

In the pseudo documentary, there was a picture of a boy who was not a boy on the second floor of a house. He was leaning out of a bedroom. This boy-not-boy had an erie aura about him, but what creeped me out was his black eyes. Not just the pupils, but the entire orb was black.

I have black eyed people in my family, so I couldn't believe how creeped out I was! But it was the whole eye. Bothered me for days. When I first came across the BEK stories, that was all I could think about. Did anyone else catch that show? I'm sure it has been reshown.

I've been reading threads all over the net about the BEK after a friend of mine told me about them. A friend of his encountered what seems to be two BEK girls at his car. Since then I have been super interested in them. I've always been interested in the paranormal (aliens mostly) but for some reason the BEK has got me doing research like crazy. I think it’s because no one really knows where they came from or what they want. It’s a scary thought. And the child factor, children are supposed to be innocent, and the BEK sound anything but innocent. Also the idea that they need your permission to enter is intriguing. That goes back really far in history, it’s said that demons can’t enter the house of god without permission, and this is like, 2000 years back. And I read somewhere that BEK sightings date back to about 200 years ago with the same details, children appropriately dressed for the era show up at a house in a village asking to enter for some reason. I haven’t been able to find anything to back that up with and you definately can’t trust what you read online, but adds a bit more credibility to the stories.

I've been telling people about the BEK and everyone that I’ve told has been uber creeped out by the thought of the BEK. It’s like an instinct to be scared of them. It might just be the thought of something with completely black eyes, I know that’s always creeped me out. I remember watching a show on discovery called "a haunting in Connecticut" the ghost haunting this house had pure black eyes. That image has always been in my head; even in the stepford wives (the new one) one of the robots has pure black eyes. It’s like we know if the eyes aren’t there, there’s nothing in the body, no soul.

Something else that bothered me is the story about the woman who let them in and they said "were here to collect". What are they collecting?

I also read on a post somewhere that a man let them into his car and then he was hit by a truck, if someone could direct me to that story, that would be much appreciated. Like many people here, i'm trying to figure this out.

never met one before,but i had a dream once i was on this dirt road and what looked like an old man walking towards me. he had on all white suit and he had all white hair, from the distance i could not make out the face. the house i walked by was a white house some black trim and pillars in the front. as the man in white got closer i got an erree felling. i can see him now, he walks slowly and he then lifts his head, his eyes are as black as coal, no white at all in his eyes, just all black. as the lifts his head i hear a baby cry. i felt as if a baby was born. i was so scared, i woke up.

I was speaking to a friend of mine about this recently, I figured him having a Doctorit of Divinity from Yale under his belt, he of all people would have the answer to this.

This was his answer to me:

He said that they are mainfestations of someone's anger/rage/hatred etc... of the person that has experienced them. He said the reason that some are able to talk to them and allow them into their homes without harm, is because there are different levels of anger/rage/hatered. He said the reason that those of us who felt like we were in mortal peril if we had let them in, was because the person that held the anger/rage/hatred for us, wanted us hurt themselves.. thus making the manifestation (IE -BEK's) harmful to us.

I thought it was a very interesting explination, and thought it would good to share.

So, how much interaction is possible with these black eye'd kids?

Interesting, I've read the entire thread, and never heard of such 'creatures' I was a little freaked! I arrived home to find 2 young children knocking on my front door directly after leaving work; but turns out it was Halloween!!

I am currently in pyscology. My group did do an experiment at a mall dealing with eyecontact. We tested normal, looking away, and non-see-through-sunglasses. The results however were incunclusive most likly because, we only did about 12 people. We how ever did notice that there is some what as change in the interaction with people. An experiment would be a good idea but, you would have to do it right. Mimick the Black eye kids exacly. Mimic the eyes, posture, body languedge, aproch method and personality. Though doing this would be diffucult. You would have to practice controlling your body languege and what not. I would like to post may theroies and experiances but, after I have finished reading the rest of the posts.

It is a psycological thing that makes seens under these conditions. I will explain it better in my more complete post.

Hm... I don't know where to start so bear with me about my random order of presentation.

1.Well with my high school level psycology I can state the fallowing; a possible reason why people would get insanly freaked out from these things is the fact that our minds are very deeply programed to read eyes, body posture, facial expresions, exc. We would get freaked out when our brains identify something human like but with out eyes body posture excetra. It would be like wanting to read a book so badly but, you don't know the languege; Or, like when a bady sees a dolls eyes and fears or identifies with the doll just for having eyes(Note: babies naturally identifies eyes even fake ones). We naturaully fear the unknown, and we as humans have no main preditor or enemy other then other humans, and meating one(or human like entity) that you can't read in the way you subconcosly normally do, would most likly cause some sort of mental back fire. Hence the intens fear and the straight to fly mode over fight mode.

2. My experiance. I have encounteres something that may be a black eyed child, not sure. I was about 10 or 11 at the time. The thing was more like completly shadow. My one sibling was in our living room sleeping, and the rest of my family was gone. I was in the kitchen doing the dishes, and left from me at the edge of the kitchen was a big doulble set door mostly glass. I finished the dishes and walked past the door to go check up on my bro. As I just passed the door both wings of it slamed open, scaring the bleep out of me. After I got up form the shock I thought I glanced something out side the door that moved very quickly. So, I ran out onto the deck and saw it. I don't know how to explain it. I saw a kid about my age but, for some reason I couldn't make out who it was. I also couldn't see the kids eyes. As I glanced at it facing me the next moment it turned and ran. I chased after it but, as I turned the corner around the deck it was gone. I ran around the complete radius of my house twice and checked under the deck then went back inside. My brother woke up and asked what I happened, and I said "I don't know. I thought I saw some kid." I didn't beleive in strange things before that but, after this my view on the world was very changed. For I while after that I thkought many things were ghosts and what not but, after I got older most of my past cases I dismissed as child fantasys but, this is the only one I can not shack off of being some child mind trick. This my have very well bein some kind of blacked eyed kid creature.

3. My theories. They do sound demond like but, I don't know much about demonds. I personally think they are either aliens, reptialians, homuculous(artifical humans), muntants, human evolved forms or enlightned humans(or corrupted enlightned humans). They kind of remind me of the "Truth dwelling beings off of the anime Full Metal Alchemsit" and the "others off of Lost(In actions)". I hope I never meet one(Or, agian if my enchonterment was one).

To add to my past post number 2. I lived in a very spread out farm comunity. My closest nieghbors were about half a km away. And the nearest kids that were not babies at the time were about 10 km away. So the chance of some random kid coming to my house and pulling a prank was next to none.

anyway, this story is really unsettling. sinister little children with completely black eyes are not my cup of tea. i would have to say they are grey's in human form. as some of the articles say, they are probably using some low level mind control (electrical charges perhaps?), and observing our reactions to their appearence, presense, and persistance.

it could of course just be a large scale prank, using the black contact lenses.

That's a very interesting explanation. I have often heard of manifestion of emotions, especially strong ones like hate and anger. But my question to the explanaiton, why do they need you to let them in? Why can't they just enter if they want to?
I agree with those who regard them as souless. The eyes are the window to the soul, and the soul is the conduit between the flesh and the spirit. So are they spirits which have little control over the flesh they inhabit, because they have no soul?
