Well, I'm not 18 until June 1st of this year, but knowing the current pop "music" that's out there, I doubt the number 1 then will be a good one...

As for 1st June 1988, #1 was...

*drum roll*

"With A Little Help From My Friends / She's Leaving Home - Wet Wet Wet and Billy Bragg"

I don't understand! Was there two number one's?!

"With A Little Help From My Friends / She's Leaving Home - Wet Wet Wet and Billy Bragg"

These are two songs from "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," which was all the rage in 1967 when I entered the Marine Corps, so I think this must be a medley by one group, though I am unfamiliar with Billy Bragg.

Grady, that was a charity record in aid of childline in the UK in 1987 (20th anniversary of Sgt Pepper. WetWetWet sang ' A Little help from my friends and Billy Bragg sang She's Leaving Home,, (double A side - remember vinyl?) Bragg is a sort of folksy protest singer (think Dylan--Lite) but fairly decent. They came from a an album for the same charity called 'Sgt Pepper Knew My Father in which the whole Pepper album was re=recorded by cntemporary acts. If you can track down the versions of 'Getting Better' and Good Morning Good Morning from this album they are brilliant!

My birthdays songs are Concrete and Clay by Unit 4+2 and (18th) Lets Dance by Bowie, classy

My birthday, back in '80 says it was "Lady" by Kenny Rogers.

My 18th back in '98 said it was "I'm Your Angel" by R. Kelly.
Definitely not my life theme song, nor my kind of music.

And yuck, because just like Dave Chappelle said, "...that R. Kelly, always peein' on people..."
