I haven't got much to say about this. Seems pretty difficult to mistake something that big for a star but there you go.
A sighting of what she describes as a large meteoric object falling from the night sky last week has an Ophir resident Christie Sonmez
perplexed.
Sonmez said she's wondering whether other people saw what looked like a fireball about the size of a full moon appear in the sky at 11:45 p.m.
Thursday.
Restless because her cat had not come inside, Sonmez looked out a window and saw what she said Monday was a golden ball take a short flight before
vanishing into the eastern horizon.

Giant fireballs are just that. Giant fireballs..aka Meteors. To people that have never seen one or do not no anything about them, I can see them
mistaking them for all sorts of things.
