UN Commision Demands immediate closure of Guantanamo

A UN commision has called for the immediate closure of the Guantanamo Bay Detention center and the prosecution of all those responsible for torture at the facility up to the "highest level".

A United Nations inquiry has called for the immediate closure of America's Guantanamo Bay detention centre and the prosecution of officers and politicians "up to the highest level" who are accused of torturing detainees.

The UN Human Rights Commission report, due to be published this week, concludes that Washington should put the 520 detainees on trial or release them.

It calls for the United States to halt all "practices amounting to torture", including the force-feeding of inmates who go on hunger strike.

The Bush administration has called the report a hatchet job. Of course!!

Wow, I guess the UN is mad that we had to force feed them to prevent them from killing themselves. Too bad the UN doesnt see such compassion as to care about us feeding them. We could have left them to starve to death, but then the UN would criticize us for that as well.
