Unless of course you are from the US, in which case you will share in our glorious triumph.

That is all.

Sorry to burst your bubble mate, but it's the taking part that's important - not the winning.

Anybody can win a medal. That some of your countrymen have won medals on the back of prohibited drugs or banned substances is well known.

However, I couldn't really care less. I have 4. One even has a bar to it, and I am owed a bar for another medal.

But they're not sporting medals. No Sir, they're proper medals for serving my Queen and Country. Much more important.

leave our language alone...

I just thought you would like some trash talk on your thread... seemed a bit quiet.

That's more like it!

It's not your language anymore, we Americans took it from you just like we will take the Gold in nearly every event! In the US, it would be "sports" since it is plural.

I don't know where you are getting "math" and "maths" from - I didn't use those words. Maybe trying to calculate the ungodly number of medals the US will win has gotten to your head????

DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!!!!

BTW - how many medals does England have?

Chalk up another 1st and 2nd place finish to the Yanks!

Shaun White, the flying tomato:

White crushes his competition by cramming back-to-back 1080s between two variations of a 900 spin. "No one else has been able to do that," says U.S. halfpipe coach Bud Keene. "Shaun is head and shoulders above the rest. He's clearly the guy to beat [in Turin]."

You place sports medals above military medals. How American! How crass. So not worth it!

Yeah, what's the deal with them Brits getting all huffy about language?

They really ought to learn to speak English like normal people.*

* One of my more chauvinistic acquaintances actually said this (with tongue partially in cheek) about "foreigners" in general, in the context of frustration over different languages. Even bigotry has a humorous (or should I say "humourous") side.

Oh, and as for the topic, yeah, we're going to mop the floor with you guys. All your steroid are belong to us.

Why wait - go pick up a copy of the 1980 olympics.

"Can you believe it?!?!?!?! YES!!!!!"

You may be forgetting one little fact here:

Wayne better get control of his gambling impulse before he starts worrying about the Olympics.

BTW, Team USA ain't too shaby either...

Chelios, Hatcher, Tkachuk, Gomez, Drury, Knuble, Madano... Just off the top of my head.

Besides, Canadians are soft and wussy like.

That's living in the past man, 1980? C'mon. BTW, the US will be hard press to medal in Mens Hockey. The Russians are much better than last time, the Chez Republic is very strong and Team Canada is stronger than last Olympics, who took the Gold.
