My mouth literally dropped open when I saw this. Check out the inscription on this bust that was awarded to Bush... yesterday...
The National Guard honored President Bush with a life-size bust at a gala ceremony in Washington, DC on Thursday.
...
Everyone knows that Bush is supposed to leave office in January of 2009. No mystery. No uncertainty. The 22nd Amendment makes it so. It's the law. No
gray area.
Or is there?

And don't forget that nasty little Joint Resolution 24 that wants to repeal the 22nd
Amendment which limits president's terms...
I suppose he could leave before 2008... but this really jolted me!
Be afraid. Be very afraid!

That certainly is disturbing. Myself and many people I know have been saying for years that George W is going to try and find some way to stay in
office. The prevailing theories tend to be a cancelling of elections due to supposed "threats" of terrorist attacks at polling places.
I'm just going to hope they left it blank in case he gets impeached. (fingers crossed)

BH, Is it possible that the plaque was given during his first term? Before he knew he could steal the next election . I didn't read the full
article, so correct me if I'm wrong. That could explain the empty space. If not, it sure is scary to speculate.
Or perhaps they were leaving the assassination option on the table AAC

What congressional comittee does Bush have working on how to extend the term limts? Is it PNAC?
I don't think Bush wants to term he has now, so why would he want to extend his term. I mean, not that i do not think that martial law could NOT be
initiated, but do you think the country as a whole would accept it? If martial law was not imposed after 9/11, what type of event would they attmept
to use to warrant such a thing. They jsut had 11 published chances, right?
Is it the feeling you have that we will not see another terror attack until 2008 so the elcetions can be postponed.
I think it is from first term.

freaky; I think it is left blank until he finishes his last term or his presidency ends for an unknown reason before they engrave the date.

they can only engrave the date when his mandate is over...they can't put 2008, because he could die or be removed from Presidency before that.
don't worry Hillary the "Great White Savior " is coming for 2008, than i can hang myself

What's so odd here? Why would they enscribe his ending date when he's still President. Lots of things could happen. Assassination, impeachment,
or resignation could all end his term early.
I'm going to do something special for you guys...I'm going to issue a prophecy. I know that you'll say you've seen a million prophecies...etc.
Here you go, so sayeth the Great BlueTriangle!! *starts to vibrate, eyes roll back in head*
"Bush will leave office on Jan. 20, 2009"
*collapses to the floor, exhausted from the experience*

This was presented yesterday.
I did mentioned the possibility of his term being cut short for other reasons and I'm sure that's it, it was just a shock when I first saw it. You
guys are right,, they couldn't very well put a date in there.
We shall see...

I would really love to understand how anyone here could think a two term president of whatever political bent could get away with taking dictatorial
control of the country by arbitraily abolishing the 22nd amendment to the constitution.
Remember that the military all take oaths that require them to protect (I am paraphrasing here, so bear with me) and defend the constitution, and
country against ALL enemies foriegn and domestic. A president doing this would immeadiately qualify as such. All the military personel that I know,
both current and past would never, ever stand for it. They would be well within their rights to refuse any orders originating from such a would be
despot.
Soldiers are first and foremost citizens of this country. The guardians of freedom, etc..., not robots who are answerable to their programming.
Not to mention what the civilian response would be, myself amongst them.
Large scale protest to dwarf anything during the Vietnam War.
Now for the bust, how can you say when Mr. Bush will leave office until he does? Easier to do it after the fact, than before it in case something
untoward happens.

This is purely conjecture, but I think it is much more likely that the President will declare Martial law before his term is over and cancel
elections. Thus the 22 amendment becomes meaningless and the military would follow the orders of the Commander in Chief.
Of course I would rather see another sham election than a "terrorist" attack and martial law; so the bust could be properly finished.
I really don't trust the neo-cons to give up the power they have so cleverly
attained. Still just conjecture.

Some examples have been pointed out already, and there is always the possibility of an assassination.
It was a great fear that Clinton was going to be made emperor of the nation, too, and it didn't happen. It is normal that we feel that bad
presidencies won't come to an end, but through some fiendish nightmare of an occurance, it just keeps going and going.
Relax. We'll be off to the next bad presidency in just a few months.

I think it is interesting that the sponsor of HJ24 is a democrat, and that three of the four cosponsors are also democrats.

I agree with seagull on this one. To pull something like this off, it would take incredible manpower, vast sums of money, and uncany willpower(on
behalf of the NWArmy). Aside form the political aspect, the Bush cabal would have to be in complete(100%) control of the military. I know a
lot of people in the military, my father being one of them. They are not brainwashed pysco killers. They are humans just like you and me. Some
of them have done horrible things to inocent people, but that by no means suggests that they can do that to brothers/friends/family here in the USA.
A takeover of this scale(even greater than Hitler's march) can not be accomplished with the regular soldier.
To those that will say, the UN will be used to take over America. Most if not all of these soldiers have been exposed to the effects of war on their
home land within the last 50-100 years. The European and UN political leaders, fully understand the repercussions of global war. I have a strong
hunch that they know better then to attack the US.
As for the statue. I'll bet that, with a little diligence any one of us could find a pic of a bust of Clinton, engraved in the same exact manner.
It's mostlikey superstitious nonsense or just common procedure. It's probably some sort of mason tradition.
