Gilgamesh tomb believed found

Archaeology was my second interest in college... I would love to be on this dig!


Archaeologists in Iraq believe they may have found the lost tomb of King Gilgamesh - the subject of the oldest "book" in history.

The Epic Of Gilgamesh - written by a Middle Eastern scholar 2,500 years before the birth of Christ - commemorated the life of the ruler of the city of Uruk, from which Iraq gets its name.

Now, a German-led expedition has discovered what is thought to be the entire city of Uruk - including, where the Euphrates once flowed, the last resting place of its famous King.

There have been no further updates to my knowledge, so I'm not sure what the current situation is.
Gilgamesh was a brave man, great legend (was he a legend, or more?)
Not being the master of ancient mythology, I still haven't understood how he is two-thirds god and one-third human...

I think it would be excellent to participate in this dig. Just think of the possibilities.

Very interesting site there galakemen. I've never believed the bibles views on the "devil"
