Are the mods elected, selected for election or just selected?

Sorry if it's in FAQ's but I couldn't find it!

Rule #1: Never ask about the Mods. They are an ultra secret organization and their secrets are closely guarded.
Rule #2: See Rule #1
Rule #3: Continued violations of Rules 1 & 2 will result in men in dark suits and sunglasses breaking your door down in the middle of the night.

This is true, but these men are very easily distracted by pie.

No, I don't know why just keep a pie handy...you're going to need it.

For some reason peach works best.

Spiderj

Oddly enough this works on both the men in dark suits and the mods themselves...strange.

I've actually found the best way to confuse them is to replace the door with a revolving one, and put a pie in one opening. They end up spinning for hours chasing the pie. You're safe and have hours of entertainment.

*hands parrhesia a lemon meringue pie*
*hands Nerdling an Apple and Caramel pie*

Just to be safe. It's always good to suck up, I mean be on good terms, with the mods.

Members Of Dangerous Strength

They are the SPAWN of the Administrators. There's nothing you can do about them. Everywhere you look...they're simply there. (...except really late at night. )

I have studied, in a Jane-Goodall-like-fashion, the behavior of MODS...and for the most part, I have determined they are a hard working, dedicated bunch of benevolent tyrants.

Piss 'em off and you are toast....

Not really... but I do wonder who in their right mind would give Thomas Crowne more power???

This is true. A real good chocolate cream pie is my kryptonite, or a good apple crumble, or well I guess pretty much anything in pie form but those two are at the top of the list.

Mods are invited, just to restate and stay on topic.

Why in the world would you accept, thats the big question. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the work the mods put in it just doesn't seem like a lot of fun.

of course there is the pie, that's a bonus I guess.

That's how it starts. First you ask, then you wonder, then you're asking to be one, and at that point, it's hopeless. Once you ask about being a mod, no amount of pie will ever save you.

Hey Strangeness, consider this your first lesson on threads that end off way off topic than their original intent.

Once you get a good tangent going it's hard to stop.

Yep zaphod, I would assume once a mod is given the missile codes pie can only do so much.

Once, in 1978, an ATS MOD showed up at my door. (actually not the ATS you know today, more of Tel-Net BBS through The West Coast Pirate League)

They busted my door down because I apprently sent bad text files about Jimmy Carter, anyway, I kept screaming 3.14....3.14 but it was no use.

The MOD took out her little flashy thingy and ZAP...I couldn't remeber my own name and wet myself everytime I saw Tommy Lee Jones on TV.

Through years of medication and therapy I finally got my memory back and realized I should have offered PEACH pie and not the mathematical equation of PI (3.14159265)

Live and learn my friend...live and learn!

Gadzooks that's a hard way to learn that lesson...but you're a better person for it. Now for the trigger word....Pistachio!

Every body duck, one man short is now officially triggered and the programming should kick in soon after OMS reads the thread.
