theshadowknows brought up an interesting point. If you look at it from the creation side, the chicken came first, since God created life, and well it was just there. But if you look at it from the evolution point of view, I would have to say it evolved from the dinosaurs, which in turn says the egg came first. So there you have it, both the chicken and the egg came first.

Both can not come first. If something is first it comes before everything else.

Maybe they tied for first!

Egg came first...The chicken is a *domesticated* species of bird. The still-feral *ancestors* of the chicken were laying eggs before humans domesticated them.
