An office building was evacuated Wednesday night. Police have found an unidentified substance there.

The Homeland Security Department was investigating, but a senior counterterror official said it did not immediately appear to be an emergency.

Hazardous material teams and firefighters were dispatched to the Senate Russell Office Building after a sensor tested positive for a dangerous substance, the counterterror official said. A second test proved negative, and officials were conducting a third test in the evening for more conclusive results.

There is not much information at this time. The article states that this does not appear to be any emergency. Officials are now investigating.

cnn is saying they dont know what this is exactly however over 200 people are in the garage. including four senators.

They mensioned on CNN a short time ago that a similar situation had occured in another government building some time ago and had actually been a false alarm due to a cleaning chemical.
