The statement came six days after The New York Times quoted the scientist, James E. Hansen, as saying he was threatened with "dire consequences" if he continued to call for prompt action to limit emissions of heat-trapping gases linked to global warming. He and intermediaries in the agency's 350-member public-affairs staff said the warnings came from White House appointees in NASA headquarters.

The US government seems to be holding out until the last possible moment on admitting to climate change existance - everyone seems to agree that we need to cut the emissions, everyone except the US government (aka Dubya Administration) that is...

It doesn't really matter, the US government will hold out until they can't any longer and then they will embrace the protocols... unfortunately, by this time, their greed and stalling tactics may have effed us all...

Of course there's climate change, it occurs naturally from time to time. Personally I don't think there's much we puny humans can do about it.
