Very cool photo!

Although, in all honesty, I doubt that this particular fragment came down to earth (at least to that altitude) by itself... it was likely a fragment of a considerably larger asteroid that did detonate at high altitude...

Hey! So THATS what I saw! I was in my neighbors backyard kicking back a few years ago and I looked up at the sky and just as I looked up I saw a fireball thing streak across the sky and I wasn't sure what the # it was. I've been trying to think of what it was since then, and just assumed it was a meteor or something. But now I know what it is! Because that's exactly how it looked, except it was smaller.

Nice Pic!

I think there's another thread running on this but I can't seem to find it.

Drudge just put this on his frontpage with a link to a space.com article.

That thread was in the Aliens & UFOs section:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I pointed out two other strange cases (with video clips to view) regarding UFO cases that had giant fireballs streaking through the sky.

I once saw a peice of space debris coming into the atmosphere... it was spinning around and green junk was falling off of it... everyone outside the restaraunt we were at was staring at it for the longest time. Who knows.. maybe it wasn't space junk. Wish I had my camera.
