I was just surfing on the net and I found myself here.I've already snooped around on a few of the different forums here and I was instantly impressed, not just by the content, but by the way that the Site seems to be run.
I've never seen the " no personal attacks " rule enforced before. It's the most important rule in my book on account of you can't have real " aliveness " in a debate or discussion, without it.

I have an authorative know-it-all tone of voice that some.... OK everybody, including my brother have been known to find irritating.

Don't say that I didn't warn You . < grin >

I prefer discussions to debate. Anybody can win an argument. Doesn't necessarily mean that you're right. Whether you are correct or incorrect, if you win a debate it means you're a better...er, debat-er.
Everybody can win in an authentic discussion.

Having said that, debates have their good and entertaining points too. < grin>
