Today, when I was at my saturday job, I had to take the postcode of someone, and they said, instead of:
PE-- ---
They said
Papa Echo -- ---

I know this is a system used by armed forces, but which ones use it, and also what is the entire alphabet like this?

Police, the military, some amateur radio operators... it's basically just used for disambiguation when speaking over a radio.

Its the phoenetic alphabet, it makes letters easily distinguishable over radio, even if theres a bad connection.

I do, and have done since 196something!

My last indicator and callsign was Delta 4/3B - 4th Troop, 4th Vehicle Commander.

It's bravo over here in England, maybe it's different in different countries?

I doubt it's changed since yesterday though, my cadet squadron is B flight, or Bravo flight.

Yes anyone can and do use it, I myself have used it many times when going sailing when giving my callsighn to the coastgaurd. And yes it is 'Bravo' in england.

this is used by the military for Team encodement and by Air traffic control for... well, air traffic control.
