The Eucharist is NOT the Lord's supper that's my point Flyers. People were burned down on stakes for saying it is symbolic instead of a cookie turning into a God like the priests say. Yet it *IS* symbolic by Jesus Christ's words.

I completely disagree. Revelation is an adaptation of Daniel to fit things going on around 70CE, much like The Late Great Planet Earth is an adaptation of both of those books combined to fit modern events.

Yeah right... so tell me, when did christ reign for 1000 years, when did he cast satan, antichrist and false prophet bound in the pit. If that all happened, where is peace?? I believe we haven't seen the worst of evil yet. And we sure as heck are not on the new earth.. and where is the New Jerusalem?

I think this is a very good post.

Yes, the Catholic Church may very well be the Whore of Babylon.

Why not? I mean they did steal knowledge and learning from the populace during the Dark Ages.

They colluded with Hitler and helped his henchmen escape Nazi Germany, filtered the Nazi War Machine's money out of Germany.

There's another post on ATS, where it mentions the Pope mentioning...

New World Order

I myself think the RCC may not be the whore of Babylon, but I'm not discounting the possibility. Especially since things just keep going downhill.

By posting this, I am not saying that I am a Christian, rather a student of many religions, but I do believe in good spiritual values.

In my interpretation America is new babylon, the whore is the the false idolizing of material riches instead of spiritual wealth, thus trading with America has doomed every other nation to this downward spiral into the global cashless society grid, we probably need another war first though.

Revelation 18, 1-3

"And after these things, I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; And the earth was lightened with his glory.
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitations of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kinds of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies."

Where it talks about fornication, I believe is linked with trade and commerce.

This next excerpt is taken from

Who and what is Babylon

1. Babylon would be an END TIME GREAT NATION (Rev 17,18; Isa 13:6).
2. Babylon would have a huge seaport city within its borders (Rev 18:17).
3. The Great City Babylon is the home of a world government attempt (Rev 17:18).
4. The Great City Babylon would be the economic nerve center of the world (Rev 18:3).

This certainly sounds like the good old US of A to me.

First there are two Babylons. Babylon and Mystery Babylon. You are mixing the two together

The United States is NEITHER of these Babylons.

Mystery Babylon sits on 7 hills and is dressed in purple and scarlet

Babylon, the HAMMER of the whole earth is receiving its judgement now. It is the country of Iraq.

Nope. Christ Himself said 'AMEN AMEN, you must eat the flesh
and drink the blood of the Son of Man or you won't have life in you.'
He didn't say 'hey, this is a symbol' .. he said 'THIS IS my body'.
And when He says AMEN AMEN .. He means what He says.

But hey keep spinning it your way if it makes you feel better.
(just like the disciples who walked away because Christ's very
explicit teaching was too hard for them to hear.)

You didn't even bother to educate yourself from the links provided,
did you? *sigh* This is what happens when Jack Chick is the one

Flyers, he also said "Do this in Remembrance of me" which clearly denotes it as a symbolic act, as opposed to what the priests do- having the gall of saying they have magic powers to transform God into a piece of bread, then parade him around in a monstrance. That's clearly a ritual taken from Egypt by the way. Ra would turn overnight into bread, and he would be paraded around by his clergy in an exact replica of what is now called the monstrance. That's the tip of the iceberg flyers and you simply cannot look the other way to all the pagan symbolisms and ritual which the RCC claims to stand for Christianity. Take nuns for instance- an exact replica of Rome's vestal virgins of Cybele, where do we find this teaching in the bible? Where does it say a "nun" is an official of the church?

Doc Bones also got my vote. I myself don't believe America fit's everything, the whore is supposed to commit adultery of a spiritual nature (this was usually used for Israel, it was called the whore for mixing the rituals and customs of Canaan,Egypt, and Babylon with the orders and traditions given by Moses- THE EXACT SAME THE RCC IS DOING TO CHRISTIANITY!)

Yep. That's why the Mass is prayed every day. God commanded
that. However, it definately does NOT mean that it's symbolic.
If it were just symbolic then we would have no way to fulfil
Christ's command - read the next comment -

having the gall of saying they have magic powers to
transform God into a piece of bread

Still didn't read the links, did you? That IS NOT what Catholic priests claim
at all. The Catholic Church says that GOD transforms the bread into
CHRIST - body, blood, soul, and divinity, - and that GOD does this
so that we can do what He said to do in John 6.

So no. The Catholic Church does NOT claim that priests make God into
bread. It says that God makes bread into Christ, (The Bread of Life)
- per John 6.

'My Flesh is real food, my blood is real drink' .... CHRIST's words.

I myself am tired of showing the similarity between Babylonian
mysticism and Papal doctrine.

Excellent news. I'm glad this is the last we will be hearing it out
of you. It gets old. You don't even get what the church claims to
be doing correct. Bu-bye.

OK flyers, so I'll take your word that a piece of bread is transformed into God and that a priest then manipulates it to his will, even giving it to people who could misuse it for their own purposes. This clearly sounds like the God who would have individuals punished by stoning for misusing his name, I'll have to take your word that it's OK for a priest to say that the holy of holies is now at his mercy turned into bread, and chewed up by people like a piece of meat. This sounds so scriptural, transubstantion does, so unlike the ancient rituals of passover where lamb was slain and eaten in symbolism or Doves given in more symbolism to the Levite temple priesthood for atonement or foreshadow of it.....

Then again I'm not Catholic so I don't believe that.

Nakash, nakash, nakash .... your nonbiblical 'sola scriptura' is showing.

Not all truths are in the bible. The bible itself even says so.
Heck .. the BIBLE isn't even in the bible.

Not everything has to be in the bible in order to be good
and/or of God. (remember this - 'if all of Christ's teachings
were to be written down, all the books in the world couldn't
hold them all')

Also, once again you misrepresenting what the Catholic church says.
Nuns are not 'officials' in the Catholic church.

The practice at the time of Christ was for young girls to enter the
Jewish temple in what looks very much like modern day convents. They
went to the temple to live a life of prayer and sacrifice for God. Buddhists
have nuns. Jews had their version of nuns. Catholics have nuns.
Episcopalians have their nuns. Different religions have their versions of
nuns - places where women can go to be not 'worldly' to be left alone
to pray and worship in peace and security.

If the fact that the Catholic church has women living apart to worship
God in peace and security - something that Jews had a version of,
Muslims had a version of, and Budhists have a version of - if that's your
big 'smoking gun' ... then all I can do is

(and feel sorry for ya'). bu-bye

People are to consume the eucharist there. If they steal it
(which satanists do), or they spit it out and sell it (or whatever)
then that is on their souls.

God gave us Christ 2,000 years ago. People misued Him for their
own purposes. Judas sold Him. The pharasees had Him murdered.
The guards cursed at Him, mistreated Him, and tortured Him.

This clearly sounds like the God who would have individuals
punished by stoning for misusing his name,

And what did God do to the people who misused Christ 2,000
years ago? He didn't slay them in their tracks. But their souls
were held accountable.

Then again I'm not Catholic so I don't believe that.

Then don't. I don't care.

Leave the Catholics to worship God in peace.
Go your own way. If you think the Catholics worship
of God is wrong, then pray for them AND for yourself.
In this thread alone you showed that you don't
understand what the Catholic faith teaches. You don't
even know what it is you are fighting against.
Pray for wisdom for yourself and for Catholics.
It goes much further than making anti-nun posts.

Christ was 'at everyone's mercy' when he was alive. He depended
on Joseph and Mary. He was tortured and at the mercy of the
people.

Christ is very clear - no where does he say 'hey, this is just symbolic,
ya'll come back, don't walk away, I was speaking metaphorically ...'
Nope. He's very intense and very clear.

John 6:31-35 - Our fathers did eat manna in the desert, as it is written: He
gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said to them: Amen
amen, I say to you: Moses gave you not bread from heaven, but my Father
giveth you the true bread from heaven. FOr the bread of God is that which
cometh down from heaven and giveth life to the world. They said
therefore unto him: Lord, give us always this bread. And jesus said to
them: I am the bread of life. He that cometh to me shall not hunger: and
he that believeth in me shall never thirst.

John 6:47-59 I am the bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the
desert: and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven:
that if any man eat of it, he may not die. I am the living bread which come
down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever:
and the bread that I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world. The Jews
therefore strove among themselves saying: How can this man give us his
flesh to eat? Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen, I say unto you:
except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood you shall
not have life in you. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath
everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For my flesh is meat
indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh and
drinketh my blood abideth in me: and I in him. As the living Father hath
sent me and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, the same also
shall live by me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as
your fathers did eat manna and are dead. He that eateth this bread shall
live forever.

Believe what you want. Be a non-biblical sola scriptura if you like.
But leave Catholics to worship God in peace.

There were never "nuns" within the temple. The official was always the Levite, whoever entered within the chamber who wasn't a Levite was stoned for blasphemy (Saul was punished for this in fact). Whoever misused the name of God or touched the holy of holies in the ark of the Covenant was stoned for blasphemy. That's the truth. This is a serious matter, and I use solely scripture for this as opposed to absorbing centuries of "concessions" and tradition taken from paganism. You accuse me of being "sola scriptura"? Well thanks, it is unthinkable for me to change anything within scripture simply because I am not comfortable with it. I'm not a prophet or a scribe chosen for such a job, I simply don't have the authority to do any of that, scripture is the beginning and the end for all, this is dogma not an election, sometimes you have to trust God and leave it at that, failure to do so will just have you ending up as a Pope or a Balaam destroying your own religion simply because you can't take God's word and instead trust your own intuition (which is fallible and subject to manipulation). Transubstantion is not scriptural, this was taken from Egypt along with many other ideas not present within Christianity/the New Testament. I'm positive on this, you simply cannot pinpoint this idea within the Bible plus Egypt gave us many other not too good ideas (most of those gnostic "Gospels" which are all the rage now these days were taken from that region for instance).

Not quite, but you're definitely on the right track. The Internet is actually the Beast, which appears to be a savior, but which is actually giving everyone a number (URL), that reflects upon one's forehead. The number "666" is the frequency that corresponds to the modem command to access the Internet (as expressed in Hebrew musical notation).

Please feel free to create an entire ranting Internet site about this. People should be made aware.

That's NOT what sola scriptura means.

Sola scripture means 'scripture alone'. It has nothing to do with
protesting people allegedly changing scripture. It means that if
it isn't in the bible, then you dismiss it. Even though the bible
clearly says to hold fast to sacred traditions and holy oral
teachings; if it isn't specifically written in the bible, then you
dismiss it - even though the bible says not to.

THAT is sola scriptura. What is written in scripture alone.

Of course they weren't living in the men's temple or the holy of holies.
www.newadvent.org...
It wasn't allowed.

However, the families of that time sent their daughters to the temple
to be educated, to pray and to be 'apart' from the world. Many did
so in the hopes that their daughter would be good enough to be
chosen by God to be the mother of the messiah.

They did not sleep 'within the temple'. Not at all. They were separate.
Many went during the day and returned to their parents homes at night.
The older ones lived 'at the temple' but not within it. Such as the
prophetess Anna - who with Simeon prophesised over the baby Jesus.

This wasn't just a 'private school' situation. It wasn't a boarding school.
Well ... sort of ... but it was more than that. This had religious roots.

Some historical documents that may be of interest to some readers,
but not to sola scripturas I'm sure -

www.catholic.com...
www.catholic-forum.com...

Greek Orthodox oral tradition -
www.orthodoxphotos.com...

Antiochian Orthodox -
www.antiochian.org...

Quote

As Anna had promised, she brought Mary to the Temple,
as a young girl of three and dedicated her to God’s service. It was
customary for many young Jewish virgins and widows to live at the temple
where they studied the Word of God and performed temple service.
Mary studied and served in the temple until the age of 14.

I have books with the info. I'll look through them later and see if
I can post any info here. Right now I have to go cook dinner.
Bu-bye.

Flyers, Sola scriptura ("scripture only") isn't an insult, it's a great praise. In fact, Martin Luther built a movement out of using the Bible (and only the Bible) instead of getting your information from Secular Popes, people with agendas, or Pagan tradition. Many Catholic priests before him had the same doctrine by the way (Most people in the Dark ages in fact resisted the attempt to substitute the Greek originals for the Catholic Vulgate). Sola scriptura is precisely that- to refuse to acknowledge commentary over scripture. The RCC is undoubtably heretical, and everybody knows that. I for instance am tired of hearing Syrian Christians, Lebanese Christians, Chinese Christians, and other brothers from conservative areas complain about the concessions and absurdities of the Catholic church. Now really- do you honestly believe in transubstantion? Most Catholics believe it to be symbolic and are horrified at this idea once we tell them what the RCC official doctrine is. It is insulting to the intellect to say the very least. As insulting as having 500 anathemas against protestants in Vatican 2 while visiting Voodoo priests. Anyway, this has been an interesting discussion, but I'm not deciding to buy an indulgence to get into heaven, join a crusade to shed blood using Jesus Christ's name, or eating a God cookie after it's paraded at a church in a Babylonian sun disc yet
