What do Australians do on Australia Day? Do you all put shrimps on the barbies?

That brings me to my next question, does that "shrimp on the barbie" thing ever get old? Is it a broad generalization that nauseates Australians? What say you?

Happy Australia Day!!!!!

Peace

What's a "yabbie"? Is that like a platypus or a dingo or what?

I love learning foreign terminology. It cracks me up!

I remember an Australian group went to a basketball game at MSG that I was at and during halftime they were all yelling that Aussie Oi thing.

Does it have a meaning/background or is it more like a cheer?

Anyways Happy Australia day, and remember, you guys are cool because your toilets flush the other way.

Yeah it's a cheer.. americans apparently 'root' for eachother.. it has very different meaning over here.

Who said the simpsons wasn't educational!

Aarggh, a dingo's got my yabbie.

Platypus' rock. They're about the only poisonous amphibian momotreme I can think of right now (plus i saw it on telly today). I don't think they'd be very tasty, though.

Speaking of tasty, did anyone celebrate by slapping a bit of the national symbol on the barbie?

Yum, yum!

Happy invasion day everyone, and thanks to the indigenous owners of this great land.
