Really...?

Wow. I'm shocked. I thought for sure he would be the next Liberal leader.

Brian Tobin says he doesn't want the job either.

Doesn't anyone want to lead the Liberals? Besides Belinda, I mean.

I hear Maurizio Bevilacqua is still in the running

Seriously, I smell a rat... either the potential candidates are discovering that the party is in worse shape and needs more rebuilding than assumed, or... the way is being cleared for someone.

I have a sneaking suspicion it's Ignatieff...

If he gets the leadership it will confirm my suspicion that the "Liberals" are not Liberal at all, but just Right of Center... Why don't the Libs and Cons merge and let Harper lead the party, it would in effect be the same things
Ignatieff is more Pro-War, Pro-Missile Shield, Pro American then any Liberal in history. Maybe I should take up Necromancy and ressurect Trudeux
Or Clone him and implant his memories or...

The Liberal party is screwed as is our country if that PNAC American(anyone who hasn't lived in the country for 30 years doesn't deserve to be apart of Canadian politics let alone be called a Canadian) crony gets the leadership...

Sardion - unfortunately, I think that those Liberals who are seriously considering Michael Ignatieff as leader are not the policy-makers but the image-makers... they haven't even given a thought to his stance on current events. They just hope that he can reproduce the "Trudeau effect" of 1968. Y'know, a learned, well-travelled guy who has a certain philosopher-king aura to him...

Plus, he isn't tied to the Chrétien or Martin era.

So I think the question of Ignatieff's stance on issues isn't even a blip on the Liberal radar right now.
