Ok... I know it's a parlor trick but it's kinda cool and somewhat creepy. I wasn't sure where to put it so here it is:

Flash Mind Reader

Any explanations??

The only possible numbers you can come up with using that "equation", all contain the same symbol, so however you go about it you'll be thinking of the symbol in the ball. For instance, whatever solution you come up with, try a different starting number before clicking the ball and compare the two symbols you come up with, They will always be the same.

It's pretty simple, but fun before you work it out.

That is just plain freaky......

Can anyone tell how it's done?

Using the "equation" they give you, you CANNOT come up with an answer that does not point to a certian symbol every time. It's that simple, you cannot do the sum and not "pick" a symbol that isn't in the ball, no matter what number you choose, because all the possible solutions contain the same symbol.

Excellent chebob! Another 'mystery' solved.

chebob has the answer to this but for those who haven't figured it out...

If you take any two-digit number, add the two digits together and subtract that sum from the original number you will ALWAYS get a multiple of 9. If you notice on the 'mind reader', the symbol for every multiple of 9 (9, 18, 27, 36, etc.) is always the same. And that's the one the 'crystal ball' will display each time.

Sorry if it took the fun out. BTW, there's no Easter Bunny either.
