I wasnt able to find anything on this yet with the good ole search feature. Anyhow, after waiting for such a long time for this video game to be released, it has become apparent that MGM has pulled the plug on this project. I have to say that is indeed a very dissapointing move on MGM's behalf. However there already is a movement to try to save the game from becoming entirely canned.

www.petitiononline.com...

If you are a Stargate fan I would greatly appreciate it if you made your voice heard on this matter.

MGM = Shol'va!!!

Truly, truly an outrage for anyone who is a fan of the Stargate Multi-Verse...

well they have two shows already....maybe they dont want it to become like star treck. oversaturation can be a bad thing.

though, IMHO battlestar is the king of sci fi television.

Uhh it still says Feb 1st(which is a week from now) for a release date.

www.actiontrip.com...

It would be kinda stupid for them to cancel the game a week before it ships

I suppose it could just be a rumor. But I have been researching on this matter and I've seen as many as four different release dates. These dates range from late '05
to summer '06. But as you can see from the following link news about this cancellation have only been propagated since yesterday.

So if this is indeed true I hold my ground on what I previously posted.

Incorrect the first news of the cancellation came way back in August 5th. And was rebutted August 12th by the developer.

My apoligies you are correct sardion2000. This would be a recancellation of sorts. I forget that not all people read up on any news related to the Stargate Community like I do... My bad.
The latest story states that MGM ignored the issue of the developer Perception needing a new publisher after JoWoods backed out (the "original" cancellation rumors btw). This whole debacle was explained in my linky on my previous post.

Just signed it...

I don't have much faith in petitions though... Considering it didn't help win back a few of my favorite series...

But maybe this time it will work

Thanks for signing the petition Angelwithsoul. I for one don't have much faith on such precidures either,
but unfortunately its about all we can do from the consumer end. But don't fret my friend, just make sure
to tell all your fellow gateheads about the situation and have them sign as well. Maybe, just maybe well
get MGM to stick their heads out of their...
Well you probably know where I was going with that.

Petitions dont do crap. So I won't sign it.

Never fret tho. A Stargate MMORPG is in the works.

that's just the type of thinking that hurts the cause!

remember family guy?
that came back because of petitioning
and now futurama is following suit

so don't just write it off, sign the petition even if you don't think it will help

They came back due to high DVD sales and syndication ratings.

The petition for Family Guy (which had some 100,000 "signatures") failed to get FOX to bring it back. It wasnt until it was put on Adult Swim and the DVD sales went through the roof.

The sad thing is the game is basically finished. MGM just sat on there hands finding a publisher neither syign yes or no when one would come up. Only they know why, apparantly perception just had to stop in the end as it was going nowhere.
What stinks the most though is that there is a complete game out there that is finished and now it's going to fall by the wayside.
MGM got a nice email from me today, not that they'll read it
