I hit the gripe and sent one in, but now what? it's been a few days and I've gotten no u2u about it and don't see anything here-so I'm
thinking maybe it got "lost in the mail?"
Where would I go to find out how to resolve the problem of logging in to ATS and having it log me into BTS and PTS but when I logoff ATS, I'm still
always logged in on BTS and PTS...so now I always have to log on...and then remember to go log off 2 more times whether I visited the other boards or
not
I discovered this when I hadn't logged on at all on ATS and went to check something on PTS and hit the tab and was surprised I had a u2u suddenly
waiting when I wasn't even logged in...or so I thought! Apparently I'm always logged on if I don't go and logg off each individual one then someone
can come along and read my u2us...and I'm kind of private about such!
another oddity...I was on the front ATS board page not logged in and top left corner said "Not Registered" or something as I wasn't logged in...and
as I was just doing some lurking/quick reading I didn't log on and just clicked a thread to read a post, but when taken to that page, suddenly it
said "Think2much webmail" in the top left I noticed...I browsered back and it said "Not registered" clicked on a few more links and same thing,
when it took me to a page it identified me as "think2much" on the top left...odd!
Is this part of the same problem? Was I possibly still logged on in PTS or something and went from ATS board front page to a PTS thread...hmmm...not
sure...I'd like to think that is what it was now thinking about it, as that would explain it, instead of it being a seperate problem.
Well, let me know folks! Thanks!!

When you complain a thread is created in a private restricted-access forum where mods and other people with access can review your complaint, idea, or
whatever you said.
Whatever happens after that is a result of those discussions. I think it'd be nice if someone did respond to every complaint at least to acknowledge
receipt, but that doesn't always happen.

think2much,
One thing on the Gripe, Did you add in your handle to the message so that the mods could get back to you? With out you adding who you are, they have
no idea who wrote the gripe.
Also have you tried to go to
www.abovetopsecret.com...
?
This is a link that displays all of the latest BTS/ PTS/ and ATS postings. If you you use that to log in, you should be logged into all the sites at
the same time.
Another thing that you can do is allow your browser to remember your name / passwords to the sites. If you do that, you only log once into each site,
and your browser will log you back in everytime you visit.
Hope this helps!

I agree. I don't use the gripe feature often--most everything I'd be complaining about is either already being discussed (like here) or is
explained as to why it's like that. But it would be nice to get even just an auto reply of some kind saying "Your complaint has been received.
We'll get to it when we get to it, stop bothering us." Of course, that'd require changing it up to allow for an actual input of the username, but
something would be nice.
How many gripes are there on an average day, anyways? I mean, if there's several hundred, then I have no problems with not getting any response, but
if there's only ten or twenty, I don't think it'd be that hard. Just my two cents...

Just found your gripe/idea message in the box (I swear it's not the round file cabinet that people say it is!).
Login issues are out of my jurisdiction, more of the SkepticOverlord's department and as you know he has a trillion things on his plate at any given
moment, but I gave it a bump and I'm sure he'll get to it as soon as he's able to. It just gets a little hectic sometimes being the tech superhero
on a site with tens of thousands of members
Thanks!

Just putting this out there, if you've put a Gripe in and haven't got a reply, feel free to u2u me, I have no life, so I'm here. So if something
fell through the cracks, it happens as Djarums has pointed out, I have no problem looking it up. You will probably get the same offer from most mods,
I'm just making it official(for me).

See, the thing with you other Mods is you have jobs, families (ie wives/husbands who say come to bed NOW ), etc... I'm a lowly college student, so
I'm actually around here all the time.

The original question was erroneously sent to me (she thought I actually had a clue - silly her!), and I promptly told her to send it to the round
fi....er....the complaints forum so that the smart people could look at it.
Here's the problem we have....
Skeptic Overlord was replaced by a program a few years back. WE thought it would be more efficient, and would require less attention and ego-stroking
to get it to operate. The problem with such a program is, when it starts to malfunction, where do we go? This seems to be the case, as I also have
issues in the cue and haven't even as much as received a help ticket. Very discouraging.
There is no use in contacting Simon Gray as we replaced him a while back, too. It happened during the bloodless coup of '04. We were so flawless in
the execution of the coup that nearly nobody noticed it. The only observant individual to take note was Springer. Because he sqealed like a stuck
pig, we had to off him. We replaced him with Johnny Bravo.
So, there you have it. We will try and have the situation resolved as soon as possible.
By the way. I am real. No computer program can match my level of incompetence!

Yeah, unless they's really thick (Just kiddin mods!! ) and wanted me to include "my name is....." when I described the problem. As I did
here, I wrote of how it would go from "not registered" to showing me signed in as "think2much"...though maybe if it was towards the end they
didn't get that far...

yes, well being logged in on all the sites at once just by logging on from the front page is no problemo...it's the logging off that is awry!

Well unless I'm being really thick...(which is a possibility) you are describing things I'd like to avoid!
I don't want someone jumping on this puter and going to ATS and suddenly I'm logged in whilst they browse and read my u2u's...this is why I don't
like the fact I logoff ATS but remain logged on in PTS etc...anyone can just hop on and read my mail
Maybe I didn't explain it well-admitteedly I am communicatively impaired...too many words...not enough sense.
But thanks!

Yeah I knew no automated reply would come so anonymity could be preserved, but I thought I'd at least get a u2u from someone saying "We're checking
into it" if not an answer of "TS" or a solution.

Yes, I too understand if they get bombarded with crap from us litte people that they just don't have time to filter through to look for names to give
personal u2u's to verify it's receipt/status in the que etc... and perhaps I should've been more patient...uh...sorry...but I just thought, it
couldn't hurt to ask..."gripe and then what?" even if the answer is "WAIT"

yeah...um hmmm....sure it's not...suuuurrrre! No, seriously, thanks for checkin' into it for me!
You think SO's too busy for me? I mean I have a whole 900 points and have been registered for more than 30 days and all yeah, just tell him
it's me...I'm sure he'll drop everything for ME!
Ok, I'll be patient 'til M'Lord Skeptic gets to it-but have you -or anyone-checked it out on your own puter?...does this happen to ANYone else?

Intrepid-you da man!
(or woman, whatever the case may be )
but OMG a Crazy Canuck?!?!?!!!????!??!
You aren't a musician too by any chance are you?
Sorry, momentary heart-attack. Actually I have quite the affinity for you Canadians, and admittedly a good musician friend of mine is called by me my
"Crazy Canuck"...but...naaaaa...he's not the type to be a moderator... and not tell me... better not be ...naaaaa....
I suppose as long as you aren't in BC I could trust you anyway.
Seriously though-thanks-good2know where (or to whom) I can go for unanswered gripes,etc- but hopefully you wont need hear from me.

Yup man, well, my wife USED to think so.
How did you know I was a musician, I play the beerflute fluently.
BC, been there, the horticulture is, er, oops skip topic. I'm from Nova Scotia.
Seriously, you'll find that the staff here WILL listen to what you have to say BUT there are varying levels of ability. You need help with a tech
question, DON'T LOOK HERE, I just learned how to turn a comp. on a few years ago.

Ah yes, BC horticulture...and to think, I naively once thought the shortened term referred to bad American beer! ...and then I wondered...why is it
called "BC" then? ...do they brew it differently in Can-na-duh I was properly educated after that .

...my impression now, is that you are aged, retired, Canadian alcoholic, possibly on your last leg, lots of time on computer, but little knowledge of
them....got it!
Note to self: Tech questions are NOT to be sent to Intrepid or TC!
On another note...I used to live a bit in yer, neck o'the woods...up in moose country on the border...Limestone, ME!
Buuuurrrrrrrrrr snow and moose....I'm going to have nightmares now remembering that! BUt hey, at least I learned how to drink!

Thanks guys/gals
it's good to know who is around and willing. :-)
...and um...able...
Though at least TC OPENLY admitted he had no clue and directed me in the right direction-thanks TC!
I did write a mod actually before bothering TC with it, but that mod apparently is so busy, or just ignored me! because they never even
acknowledged my u2u...which is why I wondered...hey maybe my u2u got lost...and maybe my gripe did too...so instead of hounding anyone in particular
about it, I just came here to find out what usual gripe protocol was etc...
anyway, thanks again!

Gripes are a very delicate and precise process.
Step one: Gripe goes from E-mail into the airways (may interfer with UFO cable transmissions)
Step Two: Gripe is collected onto the Abovetopsecret Encrypted Satellite System (AESS®) and sent directly to Skeptic Overlords Computer.
Step Three: Skeptic Overlord reads the gripe, and prints it a hardcopy on his inkjet printer.
Step Four: hardcopy is sent into the living room, where it is throw onto the hot embers of Skeptic Overlords fireplace.

Yesterday I thought the problem had mysteriously been solved...when I logged off of ATS I checked PTS and BTS and I wasn't Logged on there ether!
Whoo-hoo! (so I thought)
But today I find same ol' problem!
Maybe I dreamed it was fixed last night-I really didn't have time for ATS yesterday...so... maybe it was "all a dream"
because today I loggout of ATS and am still logged on to PTS/BTS
*sigh*
has ANYONE bothered to see if this happens to you, or does everyone else not need the privacy I do and just stay logged on, or have it set for
automatic loggon etc?
