The new security measures are being taken as ABC News learns that al Qaeda Web sites have posted messages saying yet another tape is about to be released — this one from al Qaeda's No. 2 man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, who apparently escaped a missile attack that targeted him in Pakistan a week ago. The Web sites say he will mourn his colleagues who were killed in that attack.

So its true that we killed some of his colleagues. And he is willing to make a tape to mourn them. Wow.

Now Thats a Great Point!

Why would he do that - why would he reveal his Dead Colleagues?

That's just not Logical.

To martyr them, that they risk their lives to fight the Great Satan which you know who. Osama for example made a video to give a tribute to the 19 hijackers for striking the heart of America. Its very logical to martyr them to recruit new people. Otherwise, it would make Al Qaeda feel they don't care about their own dead followers. No tribute, nothing or any kind. I mean if you died for Al Qaeda, you want at least people to know what you are dying for in the name of Jihad instead of being forgotten.

Or it could be just Another Way of trying to Persuade the People that US did not get any wrong Intel for this Attack.

First they said they killed Zawahiri.

Then they said they didn't - but they killed his Aides, some Master Bombmaker, and now he also Mourning his Dead Comrades?

I mean, if you are 2nd most hunted men on this planet, why would you let them know they were onto you and barely escaped?

Smells Fishy...

Who says they killed Zawahiri? Who actually said that? The Bush admin? Prove it.

Man, it's a good thing we have all these tapes to keep the American public informed as to what's happening, huh? I mean, we weren't sure exactly who was killed in that attack and now we know that even though the big Z wasn't there, his good buddies were! Now we can hunker down and get behind this war!

Who benefits?

The reason is martyrdom? A rise to call. Have you ever watched one of hte suicide bomber tapes. It is glory to die for these radicals. I don't think he will make that tape for the US, but it will be obtained in some fashion and would think it would contain threats for our attacks.. Could this video by Bin Laden be a response to the attack in Pakistan? are we getting to close and they know that they must risk capture now, move forward and attmep to complete thier mext mission. Iran is pulling money out of the EU and the sanctions will soon follow after they are recommended to the UN security council.

CAIRO, Egypt - An audiotape from al-Qaida's second in command, Ayman al-Zawahri, was posted Friday on an Islamic Web site in which he read a poem praising "martyrs of holy war" in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere.

The tape made no mention of a Jan. 13 U.S. airstrike in Pakistan that was targeting al-Zawahri and killed four al-Qaida leaders.

The CIA verified the voice as al-Zawahri following a technical analysis, an agency official said.

It was unclear when the recording was made, although the poem referred to Afghanistan martyrs in the period during Northern Alliance action against the Taliban that followed the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, the CIA official said.

Officials at two U.S. counterterror agencies said the recording does not appear to have been made recently and may even date back years.

Doesnt it strike you odd that he makes no mention of the attacks in Pakistan. Its just a poem only for the martyrs. Nothing else. Sounds boring. Unless somebody is trying to cover up Zawahiri's death maybe.
But thats just speculation. I was hoping he be mourning the death of his followers in Pakistan, instead its more like mourning the deaths of followers around the world.

Poetry?..
So let me get this straight.

We've had the man himself appear on a video, we've had binladen send an audio tape, and now we have the man again sending out a cryptic like poetry audio?

Does this not strike anyone as maybe a 'goahead' signal?
I read a book that explained how they communicated to cells the date for the attack (Thousand Years of Terrorism and the FBI)

Anyone got any transcripts of this poetry?
