I would love to see the results on these tests. I'll explain more at the end of the post.

Test 1

How much is: 2 + 2?

How much is: 8 + 8?

How much is: 16 + 16?

Think of a number between 12 and 5.

Test 2

How much is: 1 + 5?

How much is: 3 + 3?

How much is: 4 + 2?

How much is: 5 + 1?

Repeat the number 6 in your head as fast as possible for 15 seconds.

Think of a vegetable.

Test 3

Say the following numbers aloud. Do it fast!

3,
33,
333,
3333,
33333,
333333,
3333333.

Choose a color and a tool.

Test 4

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.

Count aloud the F's in that sentence. Important, count them ONLY ONCE: do not go back and count them again.

>
Scroll Down for the answers
>

Test 1:
The number you chose was 7.

Test 2:
You were thinking about a carrot.

Test 3:
You answered red and hammer.

Test4:
There are 6 F's.

I originally wanted to post this in the paranormal forum, seeing that it borders suggestive programming, but it's not really a serious topic so I put it here. According to some sources of the "tests" only 2% of test subjects will answer something different than the suggested answers. I failed miserably by answering only the carrot question "correct".

According to question 4's results one of average intelligence finds three of them. If you spotted four, you're above average. If you got five, you can turn your nose at most anybody. If you caught six, you are a genius. There is no catch. Many people forget the "OF"'s. The human brain tends to see them as V's and not F's.

If anyone has an explanation as to why one would give the answers to question 1 to 3, I would love to hear it.

Let's see if the ATS community thinks "different" than the masses....

Thats pretty freaky! I did get the number 7, although my veggie was a cucumber and my tool was a red shovel, so at least the red part. For the number of F's I got all six, although it can't mean you're a genius, I know Im not one so...

It would be interesting to hear an explanation for this.

Test 1:
7 (that's freaky)

Test 2:

Test 3:
red(it's the color I always think of it's my favorite lol) and wrench

Test 4:
I counted 6 F's

That was interesting

7, however I know why.

Squash, beats me.

Black and hammer. However, they are connected, red hammer..

6 F's I suppose some people wont count the F's in "of"

So raid why is the number 7?

That is a weird tihng with the red hammer and all. Must be the commies out to get us.

I had said seven on the first question, but its my favorite number so that is why I chose it. The second question I said carrot, don't know why I hate them, but as soon as I said it I though potato. The third question I said orange screwdriver. And sadly I said three on the last one. I don't pay attention to "of" most of the time anyways and have to reread the sentences because they don't make sense.

7 is a oddball number. Its prime, and after doing the even problems, you would want to pick a prime odd, and 7+5 also equals 12. You simply want to pick a odd prime.

My theory on the red hammer thing is that 'red' and 'hammer' are both simple words, so they come to mind quickly. Not to mention that red is a common colour and a hammer is a common tool.

Simple, common words like red hammer are more likely to come to mind than more complicated words like orange screwdriver.

Well that was definately an interesting test, though not al my answers were what was said to be correct.

Test 1:
The number you chose was 7

Actually I chose 6.

Test 2:
You were thinking about a carrot.

I thought of a Tomato.

Test 3:
You answered red and hammer.

I answered red and sickle.

Test4:
There are 6 F's.

I counted 4 F's, I actually did'nt even see the "of's".

I chose 6.

Onion.

Blue Screwdriver.

6 Fs.

They guessed the 7, and I didnt pick up the F's in the "of's" like they predicted, but thats it. I had spinach, blue, and a drill

I choose 10

Surprisingly I picked darn carrot..

An orange chisel...

And saw 6 F's..

What the point of the whole addition thing anyways? What if I'm additional-y-impaired? I'd like to use a lifeline?

I choose 11.

I picked a carrot. Spooky mind trick, I did not repeat 6 for 15 seconds BTW, because I'm always suspicious about pranks telling me to stare at the screen for that long. I learned my lesson with Kikia.

The tool I choose was a screwdriver and did not choose any color for some reason. The question was too long for my attention span I guess.

I counted 6 Fs, I though for a moment I had to count the Es too with an F hidden in it, but scrowling down to the answer I got it right, um, alright!

Well, maybe, but probably not because of this experiment.

LOLZ! That's what I was wondering. Then I re-read it and now I think it means we can think for our selves...is there a badge for that on ATS?

I nearly picked 9 but went for 7

I chose 'Carrot' and 'Black Hammer'

I didn't repeat 6 for 15 seconds either

I counted 6 'Fs'

I didn't 'get' the significance of saying all the 3s out loud.

Thanks - have you got any more tests? I like this sort of thing when I'm bored.

Test 1

How much is: 2 + 2? 4

How much is: 8 + 8? 16

How much is: 16 + 16? 32

Think of a number between 12 and 5. 6

Test 2

How much is: 1 + 5? 6

How much is: 3 + 3? 6

How much is: 4 + 2? 6

How much is: 5 + 1? 6

Repeat the number 6 in your head as fast as possible for 15 seconds.

Think of a vegetable. Brocolli

Test 3

Say the following numbers aloud. Do it fast!

3,
33,
333,
3333,
33333,
333333,
3333333.

Choose a color and a tool. Blue and Hammer

Test 4

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.

Count aloud the F's in that sentence. Important, count them ONLY ONCE: do not go back and count them again. There are 5 Fs

EDIT: Neat test! But what does counting the number of Fs in a sentence have to do with someone's intelligence? Fun test anyway!
