It all depends on who would have assumed control over Germany. As some here have accurately pointed out, the real threat to Europe at the time was really Russia. The only thing that prevented Russia from taking all of europe was hugh allied forces on territory.

It is possible that certain factions in nazi party were more rational and moderate than hitler ended up being. There may even have been true socialists in the nazi party also in hiding and waiting for the opportunity to align with Russia.

I was happy to see that some pointed out that despite the great destruction of the war that there were numerous positive outcomes also. Many prefer to not see this when there is conflict (for example the current Iraq war).

by killing Hitler, for all you know, you could just be paving the way for an even worse dictator who would do something worse, or you might be saving millions of lives. You wouldn't be able to know and you could cause far worse things. Of course it would depend at which point you killed Hitler. Would kill him when he was just a child?

what do you suppose would have happened if someone was to have killed or removed hitler?

just a note;
*killing and not killing him would give totally diffferent outcomes.

Killing Hitler is an interesting thing to think about.

If you kill him, you get to:

1. Prolong the research of Nuclear Power (which could be a good or bad thing).
2. Stop millions of Jews from getting killed.
3. Stop countless Wars.

If you don't kill him:

1. He may look good because he didn't get to execute his bad plans.
2. USA may not have established itself as a World Power so quickly.
3. There wouldn't really be a need to discover nuclear power (at that time).

Interesting question.

I would have tried to get the art teachers to accept him into art school. End of story.

...ummm...you still have a time machine don't you?? If so, how about this:

1. Smoke Hitler like it ain't no thing
2. Use the time-machine to go have a sqizz what the future looks like, if some other dictator took Hitlers place, well, hit the return button and go smoke that fool too.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 till every is sweet, or till you run outa bullets.

sounds like a good plan! What if you went into the future after killing Hitler and you saw the dictator was you! Would you travel back and kill yourself to make everything sweet again?!

Had Hitlers dreams and visions not been twisted from the cesspool of human conciousness, he would have been an outstanding leader. Had he not been fueled by agression and hatred, he actually could have been great.
He took a country that was on the very verge of collapse and communist overthrow and made them a super industiralized proud nation of healthy, sane, happy people. If I went back in time, Id show Hitler his fate, his racist foolishness, and where it would get him. Id be like the ghost of christmas past, present and future and give him the option: drop the "kill Jews and subhumans garbage" and instead, focus on building sanity, forming good relations with your neighbors instead of stealing thier land, and you will find Europe will be a better place, and the Russians will have no shot. He could have buffered against communist takeover, with the backing and blessing of the rest of Europe, without overunning them and bombing them to #. The holocaust would not have happened, israel and the middle east mess would be nothing like it is today, cuz Israel wouldnt exist, cuz it wouldnt need to exist, and the US would not have been dragged into another war it had no biz joining, and wed still probbaly be happily isolationist, with the Zionists and illuminati having to brainstorm a new idea to tinker with humanity.

Interestingly Enough, Ghandi actually admired much of Hitlers stuff, minus the racism, of course, because Hitler despised aristocracy, was a vegetarian, interested in Aryan myths and spirtuality, and burned bright. He had the Charisma and moral fiber to be an outstanding leader. However, he was in the thrall of forces that exist within human conciousness that continually damn us: male juvinile fantasies of supereriority and dominion and humilation of anyone who stands in thier way.

It would have been nice had world war 2 never happened. Very nice. Had Hitler not complied with my wishes, I would have to kill him, of course, and take over Germany myself.

I'd go back, get myself really really drunk and tell myself not to be such a power-hungry idiot...

Well if we are talking about killing Hitler what about all the other despots throughout history- Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler, Mao Tse Tung, Pope Gregory (he was the one who started the crusades wasn't he- and the following 2 millenia of fighting in the Middle East), Alexander the Great.....

If any one of these people had suceeded in their dream of bringing their version of rule to the entire world then who can say how prosperous or repressed we would all be now.

LMAO!! That is definitely possible but I'd expect that the aftershock effect of this manipulation would just be infinitely pushed further in time. Plus the magnitude of the effect would be enormous, folks have already mentioned what would have happened if only Hitler was/wasn't killed. Imagine if we were to apply the same logic to anticipating future dictators as well. In other words, you will keep killing leaders more forward in time, but there will be no end, You will continually be hitting the return button until you can no longer survive!

I wonder the risk of such a thing!

If I had a reasonable chance to actually change history by doing so, I'd be *very* tempted...But then I'd also quail at the thought of commiting murder. If possible, I'd rather try to guide Hitler's childhood life into a different direction that wouldn't lead into his facist lifestyle.

I don't know if it is a good idea to change the past. But for the present, we have the chance to change history for the better by killing a certain individual

YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHO I WANT KILLED!

I honestly hope he dies, along with his entire administration

Not to patronize the fiend, but if he never came to power, ALL of Europe would have been under communist regimes, which would have inevitably led to war with the U.S..

We must also remember that many corporations supported and funded Hitlers rise to power: General Motors Corp., Standard Oil, ITT and so on, to curb the influence of the communists

So they decided to curb Communism by showing favor to a genocidal maniac?...Nice use of logic on their part, wouldn't you say?

i would not use time as a crutch to remove history...
people have to learn from their past if they ever want to "see" the future...

this is a very good point indeed. Parts of history educate the future. Doesn't really seem to be working though does it?
