I don't know what the first one is, that looks like one planeman posted before by trail side but that airintake is different.
the 2nd one is totally PS!

Both are CGI and a lousy digital comp. The plastic texture is awful. Total fake
I would guess they were done in 3DS Max that is the kind of plastic feel that its render engine leaves

Yeah, theyre fake. There was another thread about this. One looks like a copy of the F-22. Like the Chinese could pull that off, that would be the greatest spy job in history.

The first one is definitly a rendered plane, the second one we were debating before but now it looks obviously fake.

"*****************" rumors have it J-10C or Super J10 will be coming out next, not JXX or w/e it is.

One photo which seems to be genuine though is:

Oddly enough, the one time I've ever seen an F-22 up close was at an airshow, static display, and IT looked rendered.

Given a real good fly-by-wire system and some high powered engines, those airframes look like they could be pretty mean. Oh well, at least they're nice to look at.

There is another thread on this poeple. And the general consensus was that the 2nd one is a very good CGI job.The first one I have never seen before.

The pic in the first post seems to me that an almost finished F-22 coming out of the assembly line is being put on top of the aircraft that was actually suppose to be in the original photo. Wherever that is.

No expert, and only a passing interest. Just wondered if these pics were the J-10:

Thanks Waynos. For some reason, I thought the J-10 was shrouded in secrecy. I guess I'm getting my jets mixed up. Cheers for the confirmation, maybe I should stick to what I know eh?

Well it was shrouded in secrecy for a very long time. Its been flying a good few years now, to the point where I believe it is close to service entry, if it hasn't already, and yet we have only seen pictures of it of this clarity in the last two or three years.

With decent cgi it is incrediblt difficult to tell these days, when its done right, not like in the first pict at the top of this thread However it is just as likely that it is genuine and the Chinese have simplyt developed, or acquired, a missile that looks very much like, or is copied from, the Maverick.

No, I'm now sure that it is a Photoshop (edited from CGI). Here's the pic it's based on:
external image
It's the upper of the two, reversed left-right (note the tail camo) and adjusted in angle of attack (note the forward canard deflection).

The real J-10 pic has it carrying PL-11 BVR missiles (based on Aspide/Sparrow tech -some are active homing but but generally not regarded particularly capable -more commonly seen on J-8II).

It looks more like a photoshop than a cgi but well spotted. I have been furiously scrolling between the two pictures comparing every angle, reflection and contour and agree with you that they are the same picture.
