Does anyone know some good death metal. That stereotypical idea that death metal induces violence is disproven with me. I origionally started to listen to it to drown out all of the country music at school, but I have gotten attached to it.

I'm not really into the Death Metal scene, but off the top of my head:

    * Nile
    * Emperor
    * Cradle of Filth
    * Death
    * Dimmu Borgir

A good melodic-death metal band is In Flames . They're top quality.

I dont think that the swedish band In Flames is death metal. Anyway i'm not a fan of death metal music, I'm more of a grunge guy.

I havent listened to metal in years. I used to be into alot of metal but only a few death metal bands. This is back in 91-95 so i dont know if they are still around but, Diecide, Kreator, Canibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Napalm Death were some. The disturbing lyrics did get old after a while. Now for me its all about techno.

Vital Remains' album "Dechristianize" has to be the most epic death metal album I have ever heard. Glenn Benton (Deicide) does vocals and they have something like 8 minute songs that go from epic churning to some of the fastest blast beats ever recorded

Also Zyklon does some good work. The band has Samoth & Trym from Emperor playing with them.

Behemoth is one of my personal Favs out there right now as well.
