I keep an ATS picture folder on my system that I save pictures to, and most of them are .jpg or .gif, but that's just a place to keep the originals.
I use my points to buy upload space on the ATS server, then I just upload my picture and cut and paste the url into the post.

I'm sure there is a thread out in the ATS Universe that can explain it better than I can.
Try using the Tag Search.

EDIT: Just enter the search term upload, that should take you to links for threads about uploading...........
