Did I wander into the 'Quit Smoking' Thread?

Not that I know of.

However this thread has ranged over every other possible subject so you never do know I guess.

And it doubles as an all purpose chat room!

It really does

I have given up on MSN, I just chat on here when I have time too.

Most of my posting now is done while I am at this job.

Rented a few movies last night, King Kong, Stay and Wolf Creek.

Anyone see any of those?

I enjoyed them.

My girlfriend was wiping tears from her eyes a few times watching King Kong.

I was really impressed with that one.

Life is crappy sometimes. Like right now, my connection speed is at a crawl. I am dealing with several problems. Using my cellphone as a modem (I swear must be only 28kbs, or less) Bluetooth connection to my computer (iffy, at best) general software problems (with the widcomm bluetooth software). Not to mention, IE and it's own little demons, that crop up from time to time.
Sometimes I canfigure out right away which one is giving me problems. Other times, I'll have to reboot both phone and computer. Right now seems to be one of those times.............Back in a few!!

edit = typo. And obvious keyboard malfunctions.....

Come on Mechanic, the speed of your computer should not be making or breaking your day.

Have a cold one and put a smile on.

It seems okay, for the moment.

Showing 19 errors (dropped packets?)

I know I've really lost it when the errors keep increasing, but it's stable for time being. Not ready to jump out the window just yet!

Besides I live in a basement apartment.

I must say Mechanic, you have a lot of patience

But might I suggest trying Firefox (I know it must have been suggested before). You'd be surprised how much less of a hassle it is compared to IE.

It's less of a browser issue than that. I have tried firefox, but found out I was too used to the way IE is, so I'll stick with it, for now...

But thx, anyway.

I keep forgetting to give FireFox a shot on my home system. I'll try to remember to do it tonight and make sure I give it a fair shake.

IE is causing me alittle bit of a headache lately.

Nothing major that I can not fix if I allow myself the time to do so.

Page Can not be displayed and what not.

Minor little glitches

Yeah, it's those kind of frequent "Page can not be displayed" problems that Firefox seems to be the best at eliminating. It's not the perfect browser, but having used it for about 2 years, I couldn't think of going back to IE. I very rarely have trouble with it, and the customisation aspect is just a great bonus.

In short - Everyone should at least try Firefox once.

Less than 2 minutes by my count.

I'll give it another shot sometime. I'll try to keep it in for about a week, or so, this time. That way I can make a better comparison.

Love the Firefox. Tabbed browsing is the schizzle.

The Bluetooth is your bottleneck Mechanic 32. Despite it being wireless, its throughput is miserable for graphics, formatting, etc. It is mostly designed to sync calenders and address books between portable devices.
