Internet Security Head Accused of Hacking

The indictment accuses O'Keefe of sharing military files with news media to generate favorable publicity for his San Diego company, ForensicTec Solutions Inc. O'Keefe allegedly had unauthorized possession of files from NASA, the Army, the Navy, the Department of Energy and the National Institutes of Health.

Internet security job and he is hacking. This is great. The ones that contract to protect internet security are hacking us. LOVELY.

I would however, love to have gotten some of these documents he is accused of having. They could have proven invaluable in some of the research projects here at ATS.

what would be his defense to this? " I was only checking out the security of the system???"

with restricted files on NASA, NIH, the armed forces, and the department of energy... this guy mustve had enough blackmail to put out the lights on TPTB's car. too bad it's not night time yet but still; gotta give it to the guy for trying. maybe he was just curious

there is a difference between good hacker and bad hacker. the bad hacker was witnessed during the Iraqi invasion. the al-jazeera websites were hit with DNS attacks the day they launched their western-language site. coincidence? no, moron.

Guys... that's not hacking.

He had the files. He was sharing or selling them.

Hacking would be if he didn't have the files and managed to sneak onto the computers and steal the files.

It's still hacking. It's just further over the border and would be considered malicious hacking. He had to hack into the system to get the files. Hacking is hacking. He just crossed the line between having fun and being malicious.
