Raytheon’s underwater sensors detect any unwelcome presence and trigger an underwater sound system that emits extremely powerful pulses of low frequency audio. The pulse rate and audio frequency are chosen to make human organs resonate like organ pipes, causing swimmers to vomit into their masks or suffer internal ruptures.

While I think this is a pretty cool device, and like that it's safe for the aquatic life, I can see one drawback, what happens if the system activates on an unsuspecting person, who does not know about it.

Thoughts, opinions?

No one has an opinion on this?!?

Come on, what does everything think of this, good, bad or neutral?

I'd say neat, if I hadn't read who was developing it. Scary bunch, they are.

Now I can say Raytheon makes me puke two ways, with both their sonic weapons and their ideology, or whatever passes for one in the corporate world

This gizmo would be real handy if you had a platform in international waters, and you were trying to keep millions of sick and starving people from overrunning it. (Or just trying to protect the pylons from divers)
