In a recent article at zdnet analysis some talks by UK officials in making the iPod nano the ID device in the UK.

You can find the article HERE

This is pretty interesting and on first thought it sounds absurd. But if you think about it, it could be feasible. It would be allot cheaper to implement and more user friendly.

This could easily sway the general public. I mean allot of people complain about the tracking and stuff but what if they got a free toy that is the hottest thing out? IT would quell all those who go along with the crowd and make it much easier to make everyone jump on board. I doubt it will be an actual iPod but something along the lines of it would be really appealing.

It more likely end up being a mobile phone type device, probably one that has MP3/video/games/internet/wifi/gps integrated from the start. There are some phones with most if not all these features and in a few years all should morph into a common 'do everything' device. You can buy stuff on your mobile now and so it could replace credit cards as well.

All in one conveninent device, convenient for big brother as well...
