1) Wouldn't an accusation like this actually help ATS? Looks to me like free advertising.
2) If ATS really was a "Government COINTELPRO Disinformation Operation" what better was to deflect further scrutiny than by publicizing this
accusation on the ATS website. It's called reverse psychology.

*agents start knocking at the door*
Seriously though, I thought we'd been hacked or something!
It still cracks me up when I see such alligations, but then we could all use a chuckle now and then.... Man, I wish such rumors were true... Could I
then get paid by the post? Currently, my ATS salary of $0 could use a boost.... If we're disinfo agents, we're extremely bad at our
job....

Errrrr... I mean Ted Kennedy... After all, he's actually been in a position to do something (this should not be confused with his usual position of
being passed out next to a bar stool with visions of cocktail waitresses dancing in his head), but I digress...

It makes perfect sense that ATS is either a direct or indirect partner in at least one counter intelligence program.
It also makes perfect sense that the US governemnt would use its pawns to disuade political dissent with misinformation, chastizement, and forgery.
I beleive it,

COINTELPRO?
Yeah, webdude...amature podcaster...non-american citizen...I'm definately COINTELPRO.
It was my second choice in life though...right behind overweight, chainsmoking, spirit-channeller. I heard that one doesn't pay so well though.
Oh, I DID have the NSA in my house over the Xmas holiday, but that is a tale for another day.

ATS: Project Spookwoods. ATS's plan to attack ATS.
Oh the irony.
So the Google Bombs are falling already, are they?
This could spell trouble for a COINTELPRO website.
Here's hoping the disinformation will be exposed.

Ok, people...
before too many more go about casting fuel in the fire of rumor...
.. if you think this website is a government tool...prove it to yourself.
list why (not on the site though... i could care less what your reasons are) but work thru each concern with logic.
check ownership, IP servers... ect... you will see, as i do...
Then cross that with the community that is ATS... the support for our members in crisis, the RL connections of many vocal and active members... (one
married to a site admin)
The logic doesn't fit, but prove it to yourself, because we know that as funny as it is for our mods to "claim" this label as long as it comes with
payment, it is also starting to sound like a script... which isn't helpful... and doesn't convince anyone on its own claim.
seriously folks, if you are worried, then check, put your mind to rest, and then welcome back to some true denying of ignorance.
and there are disinfo tools on the board, i just doubt that the admins have anything to do with them...

The True Conspiracy Theorist
Laz, I've asked these questions at least a thousand times. And every time someone points a finger at ATS, I do it again.
Could ATS be a government front organization? I must always accept the possibililty of that.
After all, the U.S. government employs some extraordinarily talented people.
Hey, I used to be one of them.
While I didn't find anything particularly new in SOTT's "analysis" of ATS (I've done some digging of my own like any self-respecting paranoid
whacko would), I still think it's healthy for the question to be raised and explored now and then.
Granted, I would prefer that it be done intelligently and honestly.
But still, I think it's healthy.
Sincerely,
Agent Majic

It doesn't, but the fun part is putting on the pounds. You have to be a good 250lbs and to get that big takes hard work and determination. The extra
mass helps you to channel things.

I knew there had to be a simple answer for my failures. I'm going to go get a Big Mac and 42 oz slurpy and try again.

ummm...seeing as how all of the moderators and three of the admins were once members, I believe it is very unlikely that they are government disinfo
agents. I member when William became Skeptic and when Springer started funding a lot of things. Those two are just regular guys. Speaking as a
member that has been here for umpteen thousand hours and has watched the site grow...tis just an attack without merit.
I read the article that has started the trouble and to tell you the truth both sides seem very plausibleto me, so I don't get it. Since when does
two researchers coming to two very different conclusions mean that someone is obviously the USG's lap dog.
Even if ATS was on some COINTEL bull, I'd still come here....cause its the best smelling bull on the internet!

I don't see the need for us to step into a position of defence. What does it matter if there is some looney trying to discreddit the site? If you are
out there looking to open your mind to what may or may not be going on in the world, then you will find ATS and be able to take it for what it is. If
you are ready to accept the entire site to be a disinfo project then you can go someplace else.
I dont see why we are defending ourselfves against these type of people that have nothing positive to contribute to our community in any case. It is
not our job to convince or force people into coming to and believing everything on the site.
If you dont want to listen to what we have to say; fine. But I wouldn't take it as an attack which must now be deffended against.

I actually don't agree - at all. The attack goes to the very reason for the existence of this board. If they had alleged we were all fat,
chain-smoking, money-stealing channelers that would be very different and we'd all ignore them. But they are alleging that the very reason the
members come here is a falsehood.
In other words, this is the type of lie that can hinder our ability to have a new member sign up. Now - think about what that means in a multitude of
ways. Think about what that means to you the member trying to gather all the information you possibly can on a given subject. If one would-be member
decides not to join, or one current member leaves us because of these lies - we have lost a voice, an input that hurts the whole community.
No - this is far too targeted, and intentionally targeted at that, toward the very heart of ATS.

What I am saying Valhall is that if there is someone out there who is genuinely interested in conspiracies, or even just has an open mind and is half
intelligent, he would visit the site and see for him/herself what ATS is all about.
It is an attack that carries little weight and will not be much of a detterent to new members.
