Surfing the net at work, bored as usual.
Came across this, it may of been covered before, but is incredibally fasinating.
Im not sure of the exact date of when these manuscripts were written but heres a little info and pics, with links.

The Indian Emperor Ashoka started a "Secret Society of the Nine Unknown Men": great Indian scientists who were supposed to catalogue the many sciences. Ashoka kept their work secret because he was afraid that the advanced science catalogued by these men, culled from ancient Indian sources, would be used for the evil purpose of war, which Ashoka was strongly against, having been converted to Buddhism after defeating a rival army in a bloody battle.world-mysteries.com

Now these Nine unknown men wrote nice books, presumably one each, called "The secret of Gravitation".
And it is said it is kept in a secret libary in India, Tibet or North America.
Who has these Manuscripts?

Now heres this statment regarding China.

Only a few years ago, the Chinese discovered some Sanskrit documents in Lhasa, Tibet and sent them to the University of Chandrigarh to be translated. Dr. Ruth Reyna of the University said recently that the documents contain directions for building interstellar spaceships!world-mysteries.com

And then goes to say this

Naturally, Indian scientists did not take the texts very seriously, but then became more positive about the value of them when the Chinese announced that they were including certain parts of the data for study in their space program! This was one of the first instances of a government admitting to be researching anti-gravity.world-mysteries.com

Is there evidence of China incorperating this in their space program??

Heres the link. It is not at the top of the page.
You will need to scroll down to the part that says "Ancient Indian Aircraft Technology"

www.world-mysteries.com...

Heres some pics of these Vimanas.

I like this saucer one.

And another one.

Apparently there were 32 secrets the pilot must know to fly one of these machines, here are a few.

1. Goodha: As explained in 'Vaayutatva-Prakarana', by harnessing the powers, Yaasaa, Viyaasaa, Prayaasaa in the 8th atmospheric layer covering the earth, to attract the dark content of the solar ray, and use it to hide the Vimana from the enemy.

2. Drishya: By collision of the electric power and wind power in the atmosphere, a glow is created, whose reflection is to be caught in the Vishwa-Kriya-drapana or mirror at the front of the Vimana, and by its manipulation produce a Maaya-Vimana or camouflaged Vimana.

3. Vimukha: As mentioned in "Rig-hridaya", by projecting the force of Kubera, Vimukha and Vyshawaanara poison powder through the third tube of the roudree mirror and turning the switch of the air mechanism, produce wholesale insensibility and coma.

4. Roopaakarshana: By means of the photographic yantra in the Vimana to obtain a television view of things inside an enemy's plane.

5. Stabdhak: By projecting apasmaara poison fume smoke through the tube on the north side on the Vimana, and discharging it with stambhana yantra, people in enemy planes will be made unconscious.

6. Chaapla: On sighting an enemy plane, by turning the switch in the force center in the middle section of the Vimana, a 4087 revolutions an hour atmospheric wave speed will be generated, and shake up the enemy plane.

7. Parashabda Graahaka: As explained in the "Sowdaaminee Kalaa: or science of electronics, by means of the sound capturing yantra in the Vimana, to hear the talks and sound in enemy planes flying in the sky.atributetohinduism.com

And another link where i got some of the info from.

So.....

A Myth?, A lost technology?

I have not of this before so any comments or info would be interesting.

A Myth

just look at those drawings, no way those could even lift off the ground if built

Take note that the drawings were done in 1923, base on then's technology. If someone from 1900 were to draw a helicopter, it would look like the ones created by Da Vinci, for that was the only concept available then. But today if a kid were to draw a helicopter today, you might see something from Star Wars. Point is, folks' imaginations are based on their conceptualisation of words on an understanding that they may not be able to comprehend and as a result, pictures of fantasy appears, unless he had personally witness such crafts.

I do agree that in India, there are some strange stuff going on there. Perhaps due to the language problem, not many are comming forward with UFO reports, a loss to the international community as we join hands to uncover and determine the aerial phenomena, what and who are flying these objects in our skies, as well as the mysteries they leave behind thru the centuries.

What the heck...

If this is true, this may prove that UFOs are actually vehicles from ancient races...

Perhaps they still exist, underwater...

You must keep in mind that when it comes to vehicles with vertical thrust, aerodynamics matters little. Same goes for helicopters. You could get a giant box to fly if you put a strong enough vertical thruster on it(or rotor).

Aerodynamics only would affect how well it flys forward, which is important in airplanes since they have to fly forward to stay in the air.

Hey great thread Denied. I've read most of that info in other places before, and its still a head stratcher. Great links too. Ill have to spend some time reading it and checking out the pics. Considering the Indain culture goes back millions of years, its not totally unrealistic to think that while Leo Divinci was drawing flying machines, India was building them.

The problem will probably be that for most of their history the info was passed down through storys and never drawn out or written down with very specific info, plus being that this is before science became the new world religion, the words they use to describe some stuff are more connected with mysticism than science. And alot of times words in other cultures describe things we cant even comprehend because we dont have similar words.

thanks for the pics! i've never seen them before!

Maybe these have been known for some time and it would explain why so many people see UFO's. If any government in any country has access to these and they think they can build them then they would need to test them. Especially when looking at picture no2. That looks like a classic description of a UFO. And possibly no5. if looking at it from below.

I have found a site with huge amounts of info on Vimanas and ancient technologies, I have not taken the whole thing and there are still lots of info. The site also talks about War in Ancient India.
www.hinduwisdom.info...

In the Vedic literature of India, there are many descriptions of flying machines that are generally called Vimanas. India's national epic, The Mahabharata, is a poem of vast length and complexity. According to Dr. Vyacheslav Zaitsev: "the holy Indian Sages, the Ramayana for one, tell of "Two storied celestial chariots with many windows" "They roar like off into the sky until they appear like comets." The Mahabharata and various Sanskrit books describe at length these chariots, "powered by winged lighting...it was a ship that soared into the air, flying to both the solar and stellar regions."

There is a just a mass of fascinating information about flying machines, even fantastic science fiction weapons, that can be found in translations of the Vedas (scriptures), Indian epics, and other ancient Sanskrit text.

There are no physical remains of ancient Indian aircraft technology but references to ancient flying machines are commonplace in the ancient Indian texts. Several popular ancient epics describe their use in warfare. Depending on one's point of view, either it contains some of the earliest known science fiction, or it records conflict between beings with weapons as powerful and advanced as anything used today.

Hinduism’s understanding of time is as grandiose as time itself. While most cultures base their cosmologies on familiar units such as few hundreds or thousands of years, the Hindu concept of time embraces billions and trillions of years. The Puranas describe time units from the infinitesimal truti, lasting 1/1,000,0000 of a second to a mahamantavara of 311 trillion years. Hindu sages describe time as cyclic, an endless procession of creation, preservation and dissolution. Scientists such as Carl Sagan have expressed amazement at the accuracy of space and time descriptions given by the ancient rishis and saints, who fathomed the secrets of the universe through their mystically awakened senses.

“The ancient Hindus could navigate the air, and not only navigate it, but fight battles in it like so many war-eagles combating for the domination of the clouds. To be so perfect in aeronautics, they must have known all the arts and sciences related to the science, including the strata and currents of the atmosphere, the relative temperature, humidity, density and specific gravity of the various gases...”
~Col. Henry S Olcott

Atomic devastation, Indian style

Quotes from The Mahabharata

“Various omens appeared among the gods – winds blew, meteors fell in thousands, thunder rolled through a cloudless sky.”

“There he saw a wheel with a rim as sharp as a razor whirling around the soma…Then taking the soma, he broke the whirling machine..”

“Drona called Arjuna and said…”Accept from this irresistible weapon called Brahmastra. But you must promise never to use it against a human foe, for if you did it might destroy the world. If any foe who is not a human attacks you, you may use it against him in battle..”

“I shall fight you with a celestial weapon given to me by Drona. He then hurled the blazing weapon…”

“At last they came to blows, and seizing their maces struck each other…they fell like falling suns.”

Until the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki , modern mankind could not imagine any weapon as horrible and devastating as those described in the ancient Indian texts. It seems absolutely incredible that there was an atomic war approximately ten thousand years ago. And yet, of what else could the Mahabharata be speaking?

Yet they very accurately described the effects of an atomic explosion. Radioactive poisoning will make hair and nails fall out.

The Indian Emperor Ashoka started a "Secret Society of the Nine Unknown Men": great Indian scientists who were supposed to catalogue the many sciences. Ashoka kept their work secret because he was afraid that the advanced science catalogued by these men, culled from ancient Indian sources, would be used for the evil purpose of war, which Ashoka was strongly against, having beenconverted to Buddhism after defeating a rival army in a bloody battle. The"Nine Unknown Men" wrote a total of nine books, presumably one each. Book number was "The Secrets of Gravitation!" This book, known to historians, but not actually seen by them dealt chiefly with "gravity control." It is presumably still around somewhere, kept in a secret library in India, Tibet or else where (perhaps even in North America somewhere). One can certainly understand Ashoka's reasoning for wanting to keep such knowledge a secret, assuming it exists. Ashoka was also aware of devastating wars using such advanced vehicles and other "futuristic weapons" that had destroyed the ancient Indian "Rama Empire" several thousand years before.

It is interesting to note, that the Nazis developed the first practical pulse-jet engines for their V-8 rocket "buzz bombs. Hitler and the Nazi staff were exceptionally interested in ancient India and Tibet and sent expeditions to both these places yearly, starting in the 30's, in order to gather esoteric evidence that they did so, and perhaps it was from these people that the Nazis gained some of their scientific information! According to the Dronaparva, part of the Mahabharata, and the Ramayana, one Vimana described was shaped like a sphere and born along at great speed on a mighty wind generated by mercury. It moved like a UFO, going up, down, backwards and forwards as the pilot desired. In another Indian source, the Samar, Vimanas were "iron machines, well-knit and smooth, with a charge of mercury that shot out of the back in the form of a roaring flame."

from your quote:

Radiation can make your nails fall out.

But the Mahabharata never says anything made anyone's nails fall out.

The pertinent quote states the weapon created a plague of vermin, including worms and rats. There were so many rats, and so many people dead, that the rats ate the fingernails off some of the dead people's hands.

Still sounding "atomic" to you?

Prof Lakshmithathachar rubbished the tendency among certain scholars to discount such ancient Sanskrit texts and said, “Why would our scholars want to cheat future generations? Unless it was important, nothing was written in the old days. The fact that there exists manuscripts indicates the significance.”

Hindu Wisdom: Vimanas

I haven't read the hair and the nails falling out part yet but I'd suggest that you check out:

  1. Crystallized human skulls in Mohajendo
  2. city of Dwarka: city of Lord Krishna found underwater and the documentary was covered by Graham Hancock

I'm quite certain that an ancient civilization with exceptional technological capacities existed. What bothers me is that who gave them this technology. While the kings fought in flying machines the ordinary soldiers used elephants too. In one case 3 cities at once were subjected to a nuclear blast, proving that the ordinary citizens didn't have any Plan B. For some moments I thought if the Mahabharat and the Ramayana were actually talking about the war between the angels and the rebels. However, it became clear after I read a verse from the Ramayana that said that the war between Lord Salva's army with the Vrishnis near Lord Krishna's city was " like the war between the demigods and the demons" (there hasn't been any good word to translate "angels" in Hindi so they had to use the word demigods to represent angels).

  • You have, however, been reading at too many woo websites if you believe "crystallized" skulls were found at Mohenjo-Daro.

Oh, and you'd probably have the name right if you actually knew what you were talking about.

Not to mention links to valid information concerning same.
